"David Gentry provided excellent service in making repairs to my master bath shower tile floor, as well as a small granite repair, due to some initial poor installation by the builder. He also used a machine to remove gunk from the master tile floor and it looks much better. He also provided his expert professional advice regarding other issues in my guest bath, as well as with cracks in my master bath tile floor, and I was most appreciative of his counsel. This is a company you can trust!"

"Tim came in and assessed the damage, thus finding more damage than expected. Tim and his assistant came in, demoed, cleaned and rebuilt my master shower tiles and pan with expert skill. Tim is a very nice and personable man. It was refreshing to meet someone who has good work ethics and treats the job like it is his own. Thank you Tim."

"Russell came out and committed to working on our tile project. We spoke Monday, he came out Tuesday. He started Wednesday and worked almost every day, including weekends, until the project was finished. His works was detailed, he understood our needs and design requirements and did them all as requested. In the ned we had him take on several other projects including a large slate floor install, laminate wood floors, porcelain walls and additional tiling. His work was/is outstanding and I'd hire him again without hesitation."

Marble and Granite questions, answered by experts

Professionals remove scratches, stains, and etching, restoring the stone’s natural shine and extending its lifespan.

A water-based, low- or no-VOC sealer is typically a good choice for marble countertops. Choose a sealant that is certified safe for contact with food when applying to kitchen countertops. For high-traffic areas, look for formulas that have heat-resistant and acid-resistant features. While there are economical and convenient spray-on sealers, they don’t coat the surface as effectively as the ones you apply with a pad or brush.

Granite is heavier than quartz, since it has a higher density. Quartz is made up of engineered stone, which is why it tends to weigh less than granite. Most granite countertops are ¾-inch thick and weigh about 13 pounds per square foot.

Extensive chips and cracks may require a full replacement of the countertop. The cost to install a new countertop is around $3,100 on average. But, if the damaged area is relatively small, you may want to consider repairing it yourself or calling in a qualified professional. Depending on the material, some epoxy and sandpaper may do the trick. Or you can consider painting laminate countertops or refinishing butcher block countertops.

Unfortunately, the product Bar Keepers Friend won’t remove etching from stone countertops. In fact, it can make it worse. Bar Keepers Friend contains oxalic acid, which can cause further damage to natural stones like marble or limestone.
