Small jobs welcome

"Wayne and Ian were terrific in listening to our electrical installation desires, and professional in their work ethics in doing what we’d asked. We had (3) ceiling fan/lights installed: (2) inside with double switches, (1) on patio with remote. We also had smoke alarms checked with one replaced. And a bathroom light installed with a double switch. Felt their price was very fair. They worked diligently. And we were impressed with their clean up! In and out and one would never had known they were even here except for the projects they completed. We give Wildcat Electric 5 Stars and highly recommend them. We’ll be calling them should we need any other electrical service. Thanks Wayne and Ian!!"

"1776 Electrical did an excellent job. The bid was reasonable and they gave me options for materials and lights. They keep updated in their field and suggested upgrades to our lights that will save us money and time. They completed the job quickly and worked cleanly. We enjoyed having them in the house. I will hire them again."

"Hired to install interior and exterior light fixtures and run wires for some of the lights. Jamie and Cody have great communication to say when they will be coming, always on time, and do great work. They are professional and friendly, and very fast. Ryan in the office was quick to send a bid, give me a paid invoice copy, and kept in contact with me by phone and email. Excellent company. Fair price. Easy to work with."

"Called Simple because my breaker kept tripping. After some tests, he started running through his troubleshooting. Since he was he I had him replace some old lights and outlets too. Breaker kept tripping because of a bad porch light."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Pool lights are designed to be safe by protecting swimmers from electrocution. These lights are made with waterproof fixtures and seals to prevent contact with the water.

Electrocution from pool lights is still possible, but rare. Faulty wiring or broken lighting equipment can make lights unsafe, so it’s important to replace lights as needed and have an electrician inspect and upgrade the wiring.

DIY is possible for minor issues like bulb replacement. Professional services ensure proper wiring and functionality.

Yes, outdoor lights and receptacles should be on a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety. The outdoors is considered a wet location where GFCI protection is generally required. A GFCI enhances safety by automatically tripping and shutting off the circuit if it detects an imbalance, which protects against electrocution and reduces the risk of an electrical fire. While it is the safest approach for all outdoor electrical components, specific requirements can vary depending on the type of light (e.g., pool lights), its location, and local electrical codes. For guidance tailored to your specific situation, it's best to consult a professional electrician.

The easiest and best way to power your outdoor lights is with the use of outdoor outlets. Most building codes now require exterior outlets in homes, so you likely already have outdoor outlets available to plug into. However, you can have these outlets installed if your space doesn’t currently include them.

Installing outdoor lighting can increase your home’s value by up to $2,500. The average ROI on landscape lighting is around 50%, but how much your home increases depends on the market, the type of lighting, and whether you have a strong strategy for your landscaping lighting project. LED and solar lighting may offer the highest ROIs.
