"Honest and efficient-—these guys only do high quality work. They had our water damage taken care of with a much lower bid than anyone else in the valley. I highly recommend Gordon with Resto Clean. He knows what he’s doing. When you’re in a mess, you want someone who will come NOW, is knowledgeable, and, most importantly, is HONEST. This is the only company who has all of those qualities."

"We were in the process of selling our property and during an inspection, it was noted that there was a possibility of mold in one of the areas. We had Idaho Disaster Solutions come and check which they did find. They were very upfront with what was needed to remedy the issue. They kept me informed with anything else they came across and explained the best way to handle it. We were also working with the couple that were buying the place and between Curt and James, they worked to make both parties happy! I highly recommend Idaho Disaster Solutions! You can't go wrong with these guys!!"

Mold Testing and Remediation questions, answered by experts

The answer to whether it’s safe to use a moldy dishwasher is: It depends. Mold exposure affects people differently. It’s possible that even a small amount of mold in your dishwasher could contribute to respiratory issues and other health problems, especially if you have an underlying health condition. Mold is capable of surviving the high heat and detergent used in a dishwasher cycle, so it’s important to ensure that you act quickly at the first sign of mold, or contact a house cleaner near you to stay on top of any potential mold problems.

It is safe to remove old linoleum, but it may require the help of a specialist due to the risk of asbestos in the material. Before you cut into linoleum or try to peel it up, have it tested for asbestos. If it tests positive, professionals will need to remove it to prevent the risk of health issues from airborne toxic particles. If it’s asbestos-free, DIY removal is possible and safe.

Mildew and mold are not different—mildew is a specific type of mold and yes, it can become dangerous if left untreated. It would be amazing if we were all biochemists but because we most likely aren’t, it isn’t wise to assume any mold is mildew on sight alone. Harmless mold and toxigenic mold (which can be deadly) look very similar, so if you see any new mold that looks even a little suspect, call a mold professional immediately.

Yes. You should use this product in a well-ventilated area because the fumes can be harmful. In addition, the product is poisonous if swallowed, so keep it out of reach of children. Wood finishing products that are oil based can cause irritation to your skin, so you should always wear gloves when handling it.

Many peel-and-stick wallpapers aren’t moisture-resistant, so if you install them in high-humidity rooms, mold can grow behind the wallpaper. It’s best to reserve peel-and-stick wallpaper for bedrooms, living rooms, and other rooms with lower humidity levels. Not only does this minimize the risk of mold growth, but it also keeps the wallpaper from bubbling or peeling.
