Customers say: Quick response

"Superior service above and beyond the call. The young man who installed our rain gutter was of such an outstanding character that we would have been proud to call him our son. He actually took the time to put a 2" rise in the center of our 60' gutter and very painstakingly placed the ends so that the water would descend very efficiently. We are very happy with the results."

"Found Sentri on Angi. Jeanette and Violet were very pleasant and efficient in getting a contractor to me in the time frame needed. The contractor was excellent and the roof looks great! I would definitely work with them again if I had additional projects."

"My table is 95% better. I would have liked the table top to be more finished. And one of the legs is still partially split away. Other than that I would have given them all 5 stars."

Hello!\nI'm Bryan and I'm a homeowner myself. In my 24 years of homeownership, I have learned a lot of skills to fix, build and repair around the house. I'm happy to help. \nI am a man of character though, and prefer not to be alone with a woman as to avoid anything that could look bad or be misunderstood. I appreciate your respect on this and hope to be able to help you with your project!

"Michael made a beautiful built-in wine rack and shelves in my kitchen island, He matched the existing wood-work perfectly! You can't tell where the existing cabinets stop and his work starts. He also made the wine rack so it could be easily removed for access to the island sink plumbing. His attention to detail is phenomenal! He also installed a floor and very large shelves in the space above my garage. He added a pull-down staircase for easy access. The extra storage space was wonderful!"

Woodworking questions, answered by experts

Tipping contractors, builders, or general contractors is not customary or expected. Unlike many service professions where tipping is built into the payment structure, construction professionals typically charge a full rate for their services. However, you may choose to tip a worker for exceptional service, such as if they go above and beyond, stay late to meet a deadline, or work on a holiday weekend. Before offering a tip, it's a good idea to ask about the company's policy, as some prohibit their employees from accepting gratuities. If you want to show your appreciation for a job well done without giving a cash tip, consider writing a positive online review or offering to serve as a reference for potential new customers.

While you may have heard people use millwork and carpentry interchangeably, they aren’t the same. Millwork is a type of carpentry, which means that carpentry isn’t always millwork. You can tell millwork apart from other types of carpentry because it’s manufactured at a mill. Notably, casework is also confused with millwork. Casework is different because it refers to boxes like cabinets and bookshelves.

There are several mistakes you should avoid when using butcher block countertops. Don't place hot pots or pans directly on the surface, as this can crack the wood and cause permanent damage. Avoid leaving wet items sitting on the surface, and wipe up liquids as soon as possible to avoid stains.

Homeowners insurance may cover damaged floor joists, depending on your policy. Insurance typically covers issues from storms, fires, or water damage from burst pipes. However, don't expect your insurance company to cover damage from wear and tear, poor maintenance, or termites.

It is not recommended to cut or drill into LVL (laminated veneer lumber) beams. As major structural components of a home, their composite structure can be compromised by alterations, which can weaken them and lead to cracking over time. If you must make modifications to an LVL beam, it is crucial to consult a structural engineer or general contractor first. A professional can advise on whether it's safe and provide specifics on the appropriate bit size, depth, and directionality for any necessary drilling.
