Weather you have a working plan in hand or are starting with only a piece of bare ground, Dana Construction will assist you in design, budget and construction of the custom home. This type of home makes up the majority of our business and is quite frankly our specialty. The daily attention to detail both on the job and with the client is what make a custom home truly custom. \n \nMany of our clients are not in the local area during construction and through email, FaceBook and job site cameras we are able to involve them in the entire building process. \n \nLarge or small - if it a home just for you - then it is a Custom Home for Dana Construction and the team.

"They were very professional in their work and insured that the roof repair and snow roof extension was done to my satisfaction . They did an excellent job and made sure the site area was completely clean at the end of the project. Would not hesitate to hire them again for future projects."

"Loay Jabbar provided the information I needed quickly and clearly. I immediately signed up for full coverages for our two homes because of the discounts offered and because of the quality of service that Loay is saying and promising Choice Home Warranty provides to its customers. I have bad experiences with other home warranty companies so I am hoping I found the best company that would deliver the best service."

"Snowden construction LLC did exactly what they said they would do ! Loved there quality work and dedication ! Even though my architect screwed up on some measurements, snowden construction had no problem fixing and adjusting things to make it work ! What most impressed me was one contractor that handled all of my needs !!! I didn't have to hire a bunch of different companies because snowden construction did it all ! I would definitely use them again on anyone of my projects they are very honest and very understanding and lenient ! I am a developer and I used snowden construction on commercial and residential jobs ! Nothing to big for them they do a good job!"

Custom Home Builders questions, answered by experts

Modular homes are more affordable than stick-built homes if you keep quality and square footage equal. The cost to build a home averages $323,000, while average modular home prices sit at {AvgCost}. If you’re looking for custom or luxury options, a traditional custom home costs $825,000, while a high-end modular home costs $600,000, on average.

If you want to make your home eco-friendly, enjoy low maintenance, and love the fact that its looks will take people’s breath away (and not because they were trying to blow your house down), then a modern brick home is right for you. You can hire a mason to get the building process started for your brick home.

But if you’re not fond of the color and don’t want to deal with the process of repointing or other repairs, consider going with vinyl or wood. These materials offer a lower cost. While they tend to require more maintenance, they don’t cost nearly the same as exterior brick house repair.

An A-frame home can be cheaper to build than a traditional house, but that is not always a given. Prices can be fairly similar in some cases, depending on the location, design, and necessary site preparation. Costs for an A-frame typically run between $100 to $200 per square foot, which is comparable to the cost of a traditional home. The cost of an A-frame can come in under those numbers if you opt for a prefabricated kit.

Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.

The average cost to build a modular home is around $270,000, and most modular homes total between $180,000 and $360,000. Of course, this price varies significantly by location, and the price tends to follow the cost of living in the area. There are quite a few other factors at play that can affect your pricing, including the following:

  • Number of bedrooms and bathrooms

  • Site preparation, including land clearing and leveling

  • Type of foundation

  • Utility connections

  • Cost of building permits
