"Theron and Vince are some of the most reliable, efficient plumbers I know. They got me onto their schedule right away, showed up to give me an estimate looking very professional, and preformed excellent, clean work. I thought all plumbing companies were the same until I called Marathon Plumbing. I will be recommending Marathon to everyone I know from here on out. No one can beat their professionalism and honest work."

"This company was on my list of those to call to see who could come on a Friday afternoon to get this fixed.  I contacted 3 very well known companies in this area and everyone except Chaud Company told me that it would be Monday before they could come and fix the leak.  I explained to them that it was an active leak that was going to cause more damage and wetter carpets by Monday.  I was met with a "don't care" attitude BY EVERYONE BUT Chaud Company. It was a steady drip that I discovered could have caused significant damage had I not been able to get it fixed the same day as it had obviously been leaking for a day or two already.  I discovered the leak at around 2:30 pm on a Friday, had my call returned by Chaud Company within 10 minutes by a person who was very concerned that I had a water leak and asked how severe it was.  I was asked if it was causing damage and how bad did they need to get there.  I explained how bad the leak was and she told me that she would try and get someone there within 15 minutes.  I had a plumber onsite by about 3:30, knew what the problem was (a bad PRV or pressure regulating valve), and it was fixed by 4 p.m.  Now, the valve is expensive, but I knew this going in because he has a book with every possible plumbing job listed in it and exactly what he charges for every job and they tell you EXACTLY what it will cost before he ever fixes a thing.  The fast response and willingness to work past 3 in the afternoon on a Friday are nice, but there is something to be said for KNOWING EXACTLY how much the repair will cost you before they start working.  I don't know about you but when you have someone working on your plumbing and they tell you "we will have to see how long it takes and what happens", every clang of the wrench makes your wallet cringe.  Not with Chaud Company.  Chaud is VERY professional, courteous and works fast and is just a nice guy.  I would recommend his services to my friends and would definitely call him back if needed again!  I should also note that because it didn't take him as long to complete this job, the price he actually charged me was LESS than the estimate he gave me before he started, which is always a nice surprise."

"I put in my claim with choice home warranty and CHW setup an appointment for/with Demond electric company The technician arrived I paid the required service fee charge (the service fee varies per state -i have used CHW in 3 different states and the service fee was affordable for the 3 different states) The Demond Electric technician Paul was very very professional, polite, knowledgeable and did a great job."

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

You can buy a sealant spray for a leaking copper pipe, but it’s not a permanent solution and isn’t usually a good idea. For the best adhesion, you should drain the pipe, let it dry completely, apply the spray, and wait for it to dry before turning the water back on. Even with proper technique, a sealant spray is a temporary fix, so you should only use this technique in the interim to prevent water damage if you’re waiting for a more permanent fix.

When it comes to PEX versus copper, you'll find that many plumbers prefer PEX, which doesn’t corrode or allow for sediument buildup and is less likely to burst under freezing conditions. PEX is also flexible, so your pro won’t need to install joints to create certain angles. Provided it’s up to local codes, your plumber can also snake PEX through smaller holes in the wall without making additional cuts.

While the toilet bowl and toilet tank require haul away to your curb, landfill, or recycling center, you can dispose of your old, used toilet seat in your regular garbage collection. If your toilet seat is plastic or duroplast, you can even recycle it instead at a local recycling facility.

If you have a huge leak like a burst pipe, it’s an emergency, and you should call a plumber immediately. Burst pipe repair costs range between $150 and $5,000, depending on the location of the pipe and the severity of the leak.

On the other hand, more minor leaks can go undetected for a while, which can cause water damage to your cabinets, walls, flooring, or ceiling. So while you don’t need to call it an emergency, you should still worry about a small leak. Get a temporary pipe leak solution in place while you wait for a plumber.

Whether an earthquake gas shut-off valve is required depends on your location and circumstances. Certain cities, states, and even insurance providers mandate them, especially in areas with high seismic activity. In California, for example, while laws vary by county, most jurisdictions require a valve to be installed in newly constructed homes or when a home is sold or renovated. The Los Angeles Municipal Code specifically requires a licensed contractor for installation. Even if not required by law, installing a seismic shut-off valve is a wise safety measure. These devices automatically cut off the flow of gas during an earthquake, which can prevent gas leaks, fires, and explosions. It is recommended to check with your local building department for specific laws regarding installation, permitting, and inspections, and to ensure the valve you install is on your city's list of approved models.
