"All Pro Hardwood Floors did an excellent job. They installed new oak flooring in our living room and hallway. Then they sanded and stained all of our oak flooring. You cannot tell the difference between the old and new flooring. The staff were friendly and professional. I highly recommend All Pro Hardwood Floors."

"DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Blackfoot Hardwood Floors installed our oak kitchen floors about 20 years ago when we built this home. They did a fine job, and we had them refinish and reseal them 11 years ago with only one minor problem. We then contacted them to refinish and reseal the floor 1 1/2 years ago. What a mistake! As you can see from the attached pictures, the two men that came to do this did a horrible job! The color does not match the original floor. Now anytime someone walks across the floor, it doesn't matter what kind of shoes they are wearing, they leave marks on the floor. This never happened before they were "refinished". As you can also see from the pictures, the workers cut a groove on all of my cabinets and trim boards. We have contacted the owner Dan Fawcett numerous times to come out and see the poor workmanship and damage that his workers did, but he doesn't return calls or will call to say he is coming through the area right now and can stop, never when we are home. I hate to involve our lawyer, but this looks like the only way this issue will be resolved. Again, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!"

Hardwood Flooring questions, answered by experts

There are several types of flooring options available for you to choose from. Each option has its durability factor to consider, as well as maintenance components. Some flooring options for you to choose from include:

  • Hardwood

  • Tile

  • Laminate

  • Linoleum

  • Carpeting

  • Stone

  • Cork

Yes, your kitchen flooring should extend under your dishwasher. It is essential for creating a level and stable surface for the appliance and preventing moisture from seeping into the subflooring, which is costly to repair. Working with a kitchen contractor will ensure the new flooring accounts for the height of the dishwasher so it sits under the countertop properly without any glaring gaps.

For rooms with an even number of feet (10 x 12, for example), you can technically just multiply them together to get the number of square feet in the room (10 feet x 12 feet = 120 sq. ft.). For irregularly shaped rooms or areas that aren’t even square feet, converting to inches will be your best bet for an accurate measurement.

The relative cost of adding an epoxy coating to your garage varies compared to other flooring materials and the type of epoxy. For example, epoxy can cost between $3 to $12 per square foot to install, which typically costs more than other garage flooring options, such as concrete sealers, vinyl, and concrete stain. In comparison, vinyl SPC flooring for garages cost between $3.50 to $8 per square foot and concrete sealer costs $50 to $420, depending on the type of sealant.

Start by removing any debris, nails, or staples left behind from the old carpet. Next, thoroughly vacuum the subfloor to eliminate dust, dirt, and loose particles. If adhesive residue remains, consider using an adhesive remover or scraper to lift it off gently. You can also use a sander. Finally, wipe down the subfloor using a damp rag to ensure all remaining dirt and residue is gone.
