Small jobs welcome

"There are not enough superlatives to describe the work ethics and quality of service that Eli and Dan perform. Weeks of persistent wind had brought down so many limbs and sticks from my 2 big old sycamore trees, I could not keep up with the work of cleaning up after them, so in a moment of utter exhaustion, I searched for a tree service to consider taking them down. Eli called and came in very short order to assess the job, and right off the bat, he asked if I was a veteran because they like to give a 10% veterans discount. Well, I am a veteran, but nobody had ever asked me that before with any service that I had ever used for anything. My spur of the moment decision to get those trees down was one of the best I have ever made. I have never seen such hard working, considerate and respectful young men, and they were diligent at cleaning up, leaving the area looking much better than it had before. I am extremely impressed and very pleased,. A month later, a big limb fell from on old tree in my front yard took out my power line and made a big mess,, And this happened after the power company had already trimmed out what they considered threatening limbs. This time there was NO question about who to call. And once again, Eli and Dan did the job with excellence and left the area better and cleaner than it had been before. Some of the limbs on that tree had begun to hollow out, so the potential for the next one to fall on or thru the roof was very real, but thankfully averted. I can most certainly and wholeheartedly recommend them for your tree service job,."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

Tree experts don’t advise against digging through tree roots, but instead encourage caution and consultation with a local arborist to make sure you don’t damage the tree’s structure or interrupt its water or nutrient intake. An arborist can recommend specific practices when digging and help prune the roots or dig a trench for utilities with a tool that can remove soil without touching the tree’s roots.

You’ll have to balance up the cost, the value of the tree (sentimental or otherwise), and the risk factors. An experienced arborist will help you understand whether transplanting is likely to be successful. The cost and hassle of transplanting a large, well-established tree are often not worth it, especially if the species is fast-growing and easy to source. The decision depends on the age and species of the tree, the conditions in the new site location, and how careful the company is when digging out and moving the tree.

If you don’t cut down a dead, dying, or diseased tree, it can become a nesting place for pests like mosquitos, bees, beetles, wasps, fly larvae, and more. Some pests will live in the tree, while others will feed off the decaying wood. Unhealthy trees are also more likely to fall over, potentially injuring people and causing damage to your property.

The average tree pruning should take one hour with the right equipment. Light pruning of a small tree may only take around 15 to 20 minutes. Pruning multiple large trees in your yard will probably take several hours, including cleanup. However, tree pruning pros can do this job much faster, so you can rely on pros if you’re short on time.

Poison oak is similar to poison ivy in that it's in the same family of plants. Poison oak is identifiable by its rounded-off leaves and hairy leaf texture. Tree-climbing varieties live primarily in western states while low-growing poison oak bushes occupy the eastern states. Treat poison oak like poison ivy to get rid of it permanently.
