"Todd provided consulting of door specifications for a customer order door. He also completed the installation. The challange was the the opening would not allow for a standard door size. After we as the home owners had excavated & replaced the exterior basment steps it was was revealed that door frame work was not square and was impacted by the basement walls. Our house was built in 1925. Todd was able to view the exposed basement steps work prior to its completion. There was more than one site visit by him to determine the approach to installation for the door.Todd provided specs for us to order the door and met with us.& our vendor to review the specs before ordering. The installation went smoothly. Todd made no less than 3 site visits & many communications with us along the way. This was the 3rd time that we have used his services."

"The work was completed in one day.  The crew was courteous and tried to minimize the dust generated by the process of cutting out the basement wall, to accept the new window, and installing the braces.  Very satisfied with the results.

"I had a very pleasant experience, and couldn't be happier with the outcome from Daughenbaugh Construction.

I got a recommendation from some friends of mine who had an addition put on their house the prior summer. When I first called Dave for an estimate he was willing to meet me the next day to talk about what we were wanting done, and to walk over the job offering helpful ideas to save us some time, money, and actually get us a little more "bang for our buck" so to speak.

I got 3 quotes, and to be honest I knew I wanted them to do the job from first meeting with him , and getting all the great advise. I couldn't have been happier with the job that was done.

Another thing that impressed me was at the end of every day the guys walked around cleaning up from the days work, and taking the scraps/garbage with them,

I would definitely recommend Daughenbaugh Construction, and I would most certainly use them again!"

"My disposer went bad and when I replaced it the existing plumbing would not line up and was kind of patch work anyway.  Time to get it fixed.
So I called Goering Plumbing because of the Angie reviews and John N, the service tech, came out the next day (on time).  John did a fine job of straightening up the issues and also took the time to discuss a few other matters with me which were a big help.
One month later and still no leaks.
Plus John was clean...  :)  No three day old, stinky clothes and crusty boots like the techs of a certain plumbing/sewer cleaning service that I have had the not-so-pleasurable experience of using in the past.
I was also able to use the $40 trip charge coupon that Goering Plumbing has posted here on Angie - cool.
And speaking of money, just want to let you know that Goering's hourly rate is $90 with the first hour being fully charged.  I do not know if they breakdown the rate into, say, 15 minute intervals for subsequent hours.
All in all, a very good service call.

"I've had them for probably a year. I had to have them come out once and they were very good. They were excellent. They did what they said. One of the things they fixed didn't work so well and they came back immediately. It was on a garbage disposal, but they were excellent. I haven't run into any problems. The quality of work is excellent. Nice people come out. It was fine. Everything worked out really well with them. I wish it was cheaper, but what am I going to do? It's within my reach. I'm retired and I don't have a budget. It's still reachable. It's understandable, even though you don't want that."

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

It’s one thing that helps, alongside vinegar and baking soda. Ice acts as an exfoliant, helping to lift off any bits of food stuck on the disposal blades.

Soil is just one of the items you shouldn't put down a garbage disposal. Garbage disposals are only meant for soft, non-fibrous foods. Large amounts of topsoil, dirt, or rocks will damage the blades of your garbage disposal or clog the pipes. If a small amount of dirt goes down the drain as you repot a plant, you shouldn't have to worry, but never dump a whole pot of soil in the sink for fast disposal.

If the cost of repairing a leaking garbage disposal is close to the cost of replacing the disposal, then fixing the unit might not make sense. When deciding if you should repair or replace your garbage disposal, consider the age of your garbage disposal, the cost of the repair, and whether your garbage disposal has had other problems recently to help you decide if the cost of repairing the leak is better than the cost of replacing the disposal.

The two main negatives of garbage disposals are they are a safety hazard in homes with children, and they frequently encounter blockage issues. While they might be annoying to fix and monitor, garbage disposals can significantly lower your trash use and are a great way to dispose of organic waste. While there are negatives, the vast majority of homeowners acknowledge the positives are enough to install a disposal in their home.

These appliances certainly increase the number of things allowed down the drain, but they’re not foolproof. There are several items you shouldn’t put in your garbage disposal, according to manufacturers and technicians. Don’t put coffee grounds down the drain. The same goes for eggshells, potato peels, hard foods, onion skins, and any dry, expandable food. Most importantly, never put grease or oils down the drain.
