Customers say: Quality work

"Mr. Beck did an absolutely perfect job, was very efficient, tidy, polite, timely, and a delight to have in our home. He removed the old wallpaper, cleaned everything up, and installed our new wallpaper in our large, high-walled with arches dining room. Our neighbor is a retired paper hanger and she said Mr. Beck did a wonderful job. We would definitely hire him again if we decided to paper another room."

Small jobs welcome

"Steph wall-papered my stairwell-part was 12+feet high --old house-wavy walls and corners not plumb--she spent the time -(way more than she thought-not realizing the total picture)--and made everything match up--and I am just very happy with the work. I ended up paying more than I wanted -because of the problems encountered--but, it's done, looks great-and I'm happy.!"

"He was in touch with me throughout the entire process.  Did a great job of not just painting, but filling in holes and cleaning up.  He was slightly higher priced than another painter I was considering, but I would use him again as I was very happy with the results.

"Excellent work. James is very knowledgeable. They cleaned up area well when job was done. Only issue was the start date of the work wasn't well coordinated (crew showed up to do powerwashing without notifying us). Otherwise, very happy and will use Sanders again."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

When installing new steel doors, it’s smart to do other projects simultaneously. This can lower costs, limit mess, and help your home look and function better. For example, replacing a damaged doorframe is wise when planning door installations.

Also consider changing broken or worn-out locks, repairing or replacing weather stripping, and updating handles. Painting, staining, or upgrading the trim around the door can also improve energy efficiency, security, and aesthetics.

No. If you overlap seams, the wallpaper will not come out flat. In addition to possibly throwing off your pattern match between rolls, overlapping seems necessary. If wallpaper is properly acclimated, and temperature and moisture conditions are optimal during installation, there is no reason to fear shrinkage as it dries.

It is less costly to paint than wallpaper when you only consider the upfront cost. Wallpaper costs $320 to $820 when applied by a pro, while paint only costs $200 to $700 per room. However, when comparing wallpaper versus paint, consider the long-term as well. Wallpaper can save you money over time since it has a much longer life span than paint.

No, you don’t need to apply paint primer to your wall before hanging paintable wallpaper. Manufacturers design paintable wallpaper so that the paint will adhere effectively, so primer isn’t necessary. Plus, even if you opt for a light shade of paint, you won’t have to worry about the shade underneath showing through because you are painting on a light, white surface.

Yes, many types of peel-and-stick wallpaper can be used in bathrooms, especially those made of vinyl or polyester. However, its success depends heavily on the level of moisture and ventilation. In bathrooms with good ventilation, such as those with fans, it can be a durable option. Peel-and-stick wallpaper may not adhere as well as traditional wallpaper in very humid conditions. For bathrooms that see a lot of moisture, like a kids' bathroom or a full bath with a steamy shower and poor ventilation, even high-quality peel-and-stick wallpaper is likely to peel over time.
