"They worked around my schedule to deliver the product even though it was just a small quantity of sand 4 tons. I will use them for all my future hauling needs."

I've been doing handyman, construction, carpentry work for 16 years now. Over that time I've learned how to do countless different jobs and overcome various different snags and setbacks. Efficiency and dedication drive me and I will work as much as needed to meet a deadline.

"I thought my bar countertop could be fixed, but after further inspection Jett identified some issues that would cause me further problems. I hired Jett to remove and replace my bar counter top and it turned out amazing I’ve recommended his companies to friends and family!"

"JD was very efficient in communication and made time for me the very next day. He thoroughly inspected the chair and had supplies with him to make a new support for the spring while creatively repairing my chair in less then an hour with the new support stronger then the manufactured one on the other side. He was reasonably priced, cleaned up after himself, was very honest and assured me if there was any issues with the chair to let him know and he would be back free of charge to reassess and fix. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!"

"Having seen signs around town for Ian's Handyman Svc, I called to have my upright freezer, including a half-dozen coolers filled with its contents, moved from the house I had sold 12+ miles to its new home. Because the work was done timely and efficiently, and because I was charged what I felt was a fair amount, I later called Ian's for additional work. These are the things I had Ian do in my new home: A bed, vanity and bureau were moved in my bedroom, including the mirror being re-installed on the vanity. A very large mirror was installed on the hallway wall. A smaller mirror was installed on the wall above my kitchen sink. A more efficient detachable shower head was installed to replace the old stationary one in my bathroom. And lastly, a high arched faucet assembly was installed to replace the straight lower one on my kitchen sink. Again, I was charged what I felt was a fair amount for the excellent work that Ian did! I will definitely call him when I need further work done!!"

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

It’s a good idea to wait at least 24 hours after opening your pool before you swim in it. Pool opening often involves shocking the water, and the chemical levels need to come down a bit before it’s safe to swim. You can continue testing your water pH and chlorine levels if you’re in a rush. It’s wise to wait until your chlorine levels drop to under four parts per million (ppm) and you have a water pH of between 7.2 and 7.8. You can artificially lower your water pH to speed up the process.

The total time to install an inground pool typically ranges from 8 weeks to 4 months. This timeline can be influenced by several factors, including permitting, site preparation, and the construction process itself.

Key phases and their typical durations include:

  • Permits: Obtaining necessary permits can take anywhere from two to six weeks.

  • Excavation and Site Preparation: This phase takes about a week but can be extended by problematic soil, unexpected ground conditions, or the need to move underground utility lines.

  • Construction: The actual build, including plumbing and electrical work, often takes one to two months. The pool material is a major factor here; a concrete pool needs about 30 days to cure, while installing a fiberglass or vinyl liner is much faster.

External factors can also cause significant delays:

  • Contractor Availability: Spring and summer are busy seasons, and high demand can lead to long waitlists, potentially adding months to your start date. It is often recommended to start planning and getting estimates up to a year in advance.

  • Other Delays: Weather, material shortages, complex designs, and other unforeseen challenges can extend the project timeline.

Some pool professionals recommend adding an extra layer of comfort and protection between your pool and the vinyl liner. Made from a range of plastic blends, these liners can absorb moisture, allow the pool liner to breathe, and act as an extra barrier for pests, burrowing animals, and mildew. They also provide an extra layer of comfort for swimmers.

It takes more electricity to run one, so it’s not necessarily cheaper to run a salt water pool. However, the cost difference is relatively minor; it may cost an extra $50 over the course of a year. However, salt costs a lot less than chlorine sanitizers. This lowers the overall maintenance costs for a salt water pool compared to chlorine pools.

While salt water pools are slightly more expensive to install and run, they offer a better experience with less irritation to the skin, eyes, and even hair. Salt water is also less harsh on swimsuits and pool accessories. As a result, some homeowners feel the extra expense is worth it.
