"I recently hired Prime Surface Solutions for a major home update, and I can't say enough about the outstanding work they did! Jett and his team tackled tile repair, tile grout repair, new countertops, and a complete shower installation with incredible skill and professionalism. The tile repair was flawless-cracked tiles in our bathroom and kitchen were replaced seamlessly, blending perfectly with the existing ones. The grout repair was equally impressive; they restored crumbling grout lines to look brand new, using high-quality materials that have held up beautifully. Our new countertops are a game-changer-gorgeous, durable, and installed with precision that transformed our kitchen's look and feel. The new shower installation was the highlight: they designed and built a modern, spacious shower that's both functional and stunning, with every detail (from tiling to fixtures)executed perfectly. Jett was communicative, punctual, and ensured everything was completed on time. GOOD JOB"

"They were sub-contractors for a purchase through a local chain outlet.  All work was performed by them, though.  Measure was prompt and on-schedule.  Installation was the same.  We had a second date set for backsplash as we had a window ledge that needed precise measurement.  Jeremy had time a day ahead, as did we, so that work was done before scheduling.  Our new sinks were quite a bit deeper and did not match the existing drain configuration.  Chad's dad (Bob) does this kind of work and was able to come over and do the work the same day for a reasonable cost even following up when our new disposal drain flange was not compatible with the Blanco sinks that we purchased with the countertops.
Sadly, Chad and his outfit have been almost too good and are able to concentrate on more custom work;  but hopefully will still be available for us "regular" customers.

"I had a very positive experience. It took me a while to make all the decisions; however, Duane was very patient and never pushy.  He is very calm and professional.  If he says he will be there, he will be there. He is easy to have in your home and cleans up when the work is done.  He is an excellent craftsman and cares about his work.  I could not be more pleased with the outcome!

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Small kitchens benefit from simple, blunt countertop edges, as complicated edges can create visual clutter and be more of a hazard if you bump into them. Eased edges are a top pick for small kitchens because they are simple, do not jut out, and do not take up additional space. Bullnose edge countertops are also popular because of their rounded design; they are elegantly simple and will not be sharp when you bump against them. Single-beveled edges are also a good choice, as they look a little more upscale but still have rounded edges for safety and simplicity.

You attach solid surface counters with construction adhesive. Once your slab is ready, you fit it to the wall, apply the adhesive, and secure it in place with clamps until the glue dries. This usually takes several days.

Afterward, you install the backsplash, faucets, and more. At this point, you can caulk the counter, allow it to dry for 24 hours, and then you're done with the installation.

Granite countertops can last for 100 years or more with proper maintenance, even in high-traffic areas like kitchens and bathrooms. Granite can crack, stain, or fade over time, like any countertop material, but it’s a highly durable option that should offer a lifetime of use. Some ways to increase the longevity of granite countertops include regularly cleaning the surface, especially after spills, avoiding sharp objects directly on the countertop, and resealing the material every few years.

You should use glue and screws when installing butcher block countertops. Opt for a construction adhesive or wood glue applied along the top edge of your base cabinets. For added strength, install support brackets on the base cabinets, then secure your countertop with screws. Make sure you only tighten the screws to the point where the butcher block is snug against the cabinet and don’t overtighten.

While Formica® countertops are scratch-resistant, they are not fully scratch-proof. They will develop marks on their upper decorative layer more easily than quartz, granite, or porcelain tile. Always use cutting boards for food prep and avoid dragging heavy items, such as blenders or big pots, across the surfaces.
