"I am employed by a property management company. When tenants bring in unwanted pest, it's imperative we get rid of them quickly. Rob, our Pestquito Tech and Lindsey our account manager make it their mission to kill! We had a larger more reputable company before, but they couldn't get the job done. Rob and Lindsey get it done! While bleach is an effective roach killer, we don’t recommend using bleach as a drain cleaner. Bleach can release toxic fumes from your drains. Applying this chemical could cause damage to the entire drain system over time. It's better to use homemade drain cleaners or cleaners that don't contain bleach.

Squirrels hate not having access to secure shelter or food sources. Your best line of defense is to make your property less attractive by removing access to these things. There are chemical squirrel repellents, but these have mixed success. According to Pennsylvania State University, you can apply products containing the bittering agent denatonium saccharide to a squirrel's favorite fence, tree, or roof spots. However, you need to reapply repellents regularly, which aren’t scientifically proven effective.

Scented mouse deterrents, like peppermint oil, can be effective in the short term. The pungent smells may temporarily repel mice, but they lose effectiveness as the scent fades or mice get used to it. While they can be part of a broader strategy, scented deterrents alone are rarely enough to eliminate a mouse problem.

Aside from incorporating smells that roaches hate in your bedroom, such as citronella, lemongrass, or clove oil, there are a few ways you can keep roaches away at night. First, try moving your bed away from the wall, as roaches will often climb the walls and onto your bed. If you’re still having trouble, you can also purchase a mosquito tent for your bed, or hang netting from the ceiling to surround your sleeping area. Make sure it isn’t touching the ground, though, as they may attempt to climb it.

Not only are mice clever, they are also adept at squeezing in tiny cracks to get into your home. Figuring out how rodents are getting in is key to getting rid of mice quickly and humanely. Check these areas for entry points:

  • Basement or crawl space

  • The garage 

  • Gaps in the foundation

  • The roof or attic

  • Underneath and around pipes, drains, electrical wiring, and gas lines

  • Around doors and windows

  • Baseboards

  • Kitchen cabinets
