Small jobs welcome

"My usual snow removal guy had a family emergency the night of the blizzard. The next morning I needed to take my housemate, who is very weak and uses a walker. to an important doctor's appointment. I found Josh on Angi. He got back to me very soon and was here within 1 1/2 hours. He did an excellent job!"

"he did a good job as far as I can tell now. I am assuming it is top notch and will hold up as well as anyone else would do. My problem is that he has left the orange cones here at the side of my drive since he left. I have notified him twice that I would like them removed but no response. Also a friend has been trying to reach him for work she wants done but he has not responded."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Yes, snow should be removed from a deck to protect it from damage caused by moisture and heavy loads. Shovel the snow off of your deck regularly once it is more than four inches deep. Avoid using salt, which can damage your deck.

Snow can be too heavy for a snow blower and cause clogs in the chute. However, having the correct type of blower for the snow conditions can reduce the chances of it being too heavy for it to handle. Another trick for preventing clogs is to make multiple passes while it snows rather than waiting for it to finish snowing.

Be careful when choosing a product to help you remove ice from your wood deck. Never use sand, gravel, or salt, since these items can damage and scratch the wood. Instead, look for chemical de-icers that are marked as safe for wood decks or use hot water to melt snow and ice.

The cost of removing snow from a roof averages between $300 and $700. However, this cost can range from $200 to $3,000, depending on the size of your roof, the amount of snow, and roof accessibility.

Since snowfall can range from light powder to heavy and condensed snow, part of the price of roof snow removal depends on the amount and type of snow. For 12 inches of snow, you can expect to pay between $200 and $2,000 for this job. However, for 24 inches of snow, that price rises to $300 to $3,000.

You can quickly melt snow on your driveway by adding rock salt, hot water, de-icer, and other melting products. These snow removal methods will quickly melt any snow on slippery ice from your driveway, making it safer to maneuver. For a more permanent solution, consider using melting mats or installing a heated driveway system.
