"The work was done well and in a little over an hour. However, the price was $750, and I paid it only because I was short on time and didn't have an advance estimate. The material cost of the service could not have been more than a $100--I checked--so I paid $650 for labor and overhead. That's far too much, but I had my back to a wall. The reason it was so expensive is because they charge based on a flat fee, e.g., $150 a GFCI breaker, which is already high, but most mundane tasks don't take very much time and such a breaker shouldn't cost more than $30 retail. There is absolutely no excuse for those prices; it's price-gouging."

"I would not do business with this company again. I had work done in November and have been trying to resolve the bill since December. Dickerson Mechanical drug their feet in getting the information that was needed to be sent to my home warranty company so that my claim could go forward into payment. They only contacted them with the information after they applied a late fee to the bill. When I got informed from my warranty company that they received the information and given the details of what I still needed to pay to Dickerson. I went in person to pay the bill with a check for the amount owed. I was received with a horrible attitude when I explained the situation and was here to pay what I owe still. They claimed I owed more than what I actually did and said "well you can pay that but I will send it to collections.""

"WireOne contacted me after getting my request on Angie's list. They were prompt at calling me, making an appointment and were on time for the appointment. On the phone I was told about the price for the trip charge and told that I would get an estimate for the work before being preformed. The rate is not per hour which sounds good but can be misleading. I asked on the phone to see if our existing fan could be fixed (It was making a noise) and if not we had another fan it could be replaced with. The technician told me they don't fix fans (which is not what was said on the phone) so he replaced it with the new one. He gave me an estimate but when he replaced it he was not able to get the existing wall switch to work with it. He had a switch in his car but it was white not ivory and was $132. By then we were paying for the trip charge and the charge to install the fan so what was I suppose to do? To go back to a store or order online and buy a switch for approximately $30 and get the right color would mean another trip charge and appointment. I felt like we were stuck and overcharged. We also had an estimate to replace 7 smoke detectors. He didn't want to use the brand that I bought on Amazon. Instead he wanted me to buy the ones he had in his truck and install them for a total of $965.80. Nice technician and great service but too expensive so I'll use someone else when we decide to replace the smoke dectectors."
