Then, unroll the carpet pad and cut sections as needed. Staple the carpet pad to the subfloor along the edges, leaving the tack strips exposed.

No, when done correctly, removing the tile shouldn’t damage the subfloor. Plywood is the best type of subfloor for a mobile home, though if you’re installing flooring in a bathroom, you may want to install a vapor barrier or use a moisture-proof subfloor material like Amdry. OBS is similar, but it can swell when moisture is present. 

Either way, old mobile home subflooring made from particleboard can cause issues with your joints. If you’re replacing your subfloor, it’s best to upgrade to plywood.

Carpet installers use furniture sliders or blankets to protect your furniture during the installation process. They handle each piece with care to minimize the risk of damage. Additionally, they may employ techniques such as lifting and shifting furniture rather than dragging it across the floor to prevent scratches or other marks. If you have particularly delicate or heavy items that need to be moved, discuss special handling with the installers beforehand.
