"Utilizing All Service Moving for the move was a very positive experience. They had good communication, answering several questions prior to the move and did a final confirmation just prior to the move date. As for the physical move itself, Jose, Abraham, and Alberto were polite, diligent, and careful moving the many items, and managed to complete the move more quickly than anticipated."

"RoadRunner did a wonderful job with our move from California to Florida. At each step of the moving process, the team was professional, courteous and hard-working. Steve gave a prompt response to my initial online query and was able to quickly provide a very reasonable quote for the job. This was followed up by a home visit to assess the job in person, where Steve provided another - lower - quote, which I thought was decent of him. Communications were great in the lead up to the move, with prompt responses to my queries and Steve asking all the right questions to make sure the move ran smoothly. Ron`s team of movers were fantastic: they arrived on time, got started promptly, worked quickly and efficiently at either end of the move. All items were handled carefully and secured well in the van. The moving team were friendly and professional throughout. We were extremely impressed with RoadRunner and would happily recommend them."

Moving questions, answered by experts

Moving a one-bedroom apartment yourself can range from $150 to more than $1,500, depending on distance, the amount of belongings you have, and more. On the other hand, the cost of hiring movers for a one-bedroom apartment is around $1,850 on average. You’ll save money with the DIY route, but the process is much more labor-intensive and time-consuming.

It's typically best to hire movers who specialize in moving pianos because moving them often requires specific equipment and finesse, especially when it comes to grand pianos. However, some standard moving companies have experienced piano movers on their team, so it never hurts to call a company and ask about their piano moving expertise.

It is helpful for safety reasons to pack knives in their own box and clearly label them. This way, movers can take extra caution when moving these boxes and pack them in the moving truck accordingly. Plus, it will remind you to use extra caution when unpacking that box in your new kitchen.

To pack mugs safely for a move, start by lining the bottom of your moving box with padded material like bubble wrap. Wrap each mug individually; for a snug fit, you can tuck the ends of the bubble wrap sheet inside the mug. Place the wrapped mugs in the box, using a box with slots for extra separation if available. The key to preventing breakage is to pack the box tightly enough that the mugs cannot shift during transit. Fill any empty gaps with additional packing material. However, be careful not to pack more than 10 mugs in one box, as it can become too heavy to carry safely. Finally, be sure to label the box as “fragile” to alert movers to handle it with care.

Never attempt to move a partially-filled tank, especially with the fish still in it. Even a minor alteration or adjustment in your movement can cause the water to move, disrupting the balance and potentially causing you to drop the tank or strain your back to prevent it from falling. However, you should maintain enough water on the bottom to keep the substrate slightly submerged during transit.
