The cost to convert a metal building into a house depends on many factors, from size to chosen materials and whether you already own the property.
For the floor we decided to upgrade the floor from linoleum to tile and purchased the tiles ourselves. We asked Jenkins to purchase and install Duroc for the sub-floor to make it more stable for the tiles, which they did. Unfortunately, when they installed the Duroc they covered a heating/airconditioning vent in the floor. They knew they made a mistake but didn't tell us hoping we wouldn't notice and installed the tiles the next day anyway. The tile installation was atrocious; the tile lines were not straight, the spacing between the tiles was not even, and the individual tiles were not level (i.e., uniform height). To their credit, Jenkins bought new tiles and completely re-did the floor to an acceptable level, but this kind of substandard workmanship should never have occurred.
For the new cabinets, Jenkins convinced us that Wolf cabinets were an upgrade from what the builder originally provided that would fit within the estimate budget and would be available within two weeks versus four to five weeks for most other cabinet makers. The cabinets were available within two weeks, but looked like they were assembled from components rejected by quality control. A door was off-color; there were numerous cracks and dents in doors and drawer faces; in two places there were gashes in the front, bottom frame of the upper cabinets; the pantry was missing all the shelves; the lazy susan was improperly installed; and two cabinets had six inch cracks in the door frames (which Jenkins tried to hide with poorly applied caulking). Additionally, the installation workmanship was extremely poor quality. We wanted to preserve our existing backsplash, but Jenkins left a large gap between the upper cabinets and the backsplash which they filled with caulk that looked terrible. They re-used a filler piece from our old cabinets next to the dishwasher that did not match the color or style of the new cabinets. They attached the island with only two screws through the tile into the subfloor so the island was not very secure. The under-cabinet microwave was very poorly installed with the mounting screws at a gross angle rather than straight; so much so that it was impossible to get the microwave flush with the bottom of the cabinet and left an approximately two inch gap. The Jenkins solution was going to be a filler piece rather than mounting the microwave correctly.
Despite all the cabinet problems, Jenkins argued with us about replacing components and cabinets; particularly the cabinets with the six inch cracks in the door frames. We would agree to a list verbally and then the written punch list would omit items.
When it came to correcting the cabinet and workmanship errors, the Jenkins project manager and branch supervisor were very dismissive toward my wife and would not negotiate directly with her or take her inputs seriously. They claimed they had to work with me because the insurance policy was in my name which was not true. In the end, we fired Jenkins Restorations and took a cash settlement from the insurance company that we used to hire a a vastly superior contractor through Angie's List.

It took about 5 minutes to fix that part and since they were already here no extra labor was involved. I felt as if we were taken advantage of. I contacted the company several times before anyone finally contacted me back. The owner finally called back and informed me that they price things how they want and they have a 90 day warranty and if you were to buy it online nobody would come back to fix the problem. I informed him I wanted to work this out with him because I was hoping they could be our new A/C people. I informed him I would call Angie's List and he said call whoever you want and hung up on me. The installation went as scheduled, actually they asked if they could come a day early as it was raining where their scheduled install was located. Their team was polite and professional and didn't cause us any inconvenience. The sales guy, Charlie Q., was very friendly and wasn't pushy and didn't act like other sales guys I had contact about this. He was trustworthy and prompt when I called him. He followed up the day after the install and filled me in on maintenance procedures. I did some research first after calling another company who I signed a contract with but opted out after I read their contract. I called Maui Pacific Solar and Charlie came by to give me a quote the same day (he said he was in the neighborhood and could come right by). I appreciated that he didn't try to sell me other products, even though I'm also looking at putting in PV panels in the future, which they also do. I can't say enough about these guys and my solar water heater works great!

She doesn't let me clean her ears so it is easier just to have her bathed, ears cleaned, anal glands expressed and nails clipped. I had gone to another and quot;highly ratedand quot; local groomer and came home with a traumatized dog (all the dogs and quot;playand quot; together between grooming and there was no place for her to chill) and a filthy crate because the other dogs were allowed to pee on it. The people who ran that place where cheerful and appeared to care for the animals but it was clear they thought me overwrought.
Completely different at Aloha Dog Grooming. While some of the dogs are roaming freely, there are places for dogs to sleep or relax if necessary as well as individual cages if that would be better. They also asked a vital question that the first place didn't: Is she spayed? No she isn't. My vet wants her to be a year old before spaying. (I don't think my own nerves will last past one heat.) They were also very quick, instead of like the first place, where you had to leave the dog for at least four hours.
When I dropped her off, I explained that she had rolled in a pool of fresh seagull poop during our walk this morning. While I had tried to wipe it all off, there was still a slight smell. No one was put off by it and they scooped her up as if there was no smell at all. She was shaking a little when I left (she is very shy with people), but she was just fine when I picked her up later. She was clean, she smelled great, and her coat was so shiny it was not to be believed. Her nails were also uniformly trimmed, unlike our previous and quot;highly ratedand quot; groomer. Overall we were VERY HAPPY.

To buy heating oil for your house, contact local heating oil companies to compare prices and place an order once you decide on a supplier. The company will have to deliver your heating oil in a truck designed to carry and dispense heating oil safely. Call and order your heating oil early enough to have your oil delivered before you need to start using it for home heating.
On average, you’ll need about two gallons of oil per day to heat your house when it’s 50 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Most oil tank capacity is about 275 gallons, and heating your house with two gallons of oil per day will last about four and a half months. This consumption will vary depending on the climate and average temperature in your location. For example, if the winters are longer and colder where you live, you’ll probably need to refill your oil tank at least once to get through the winter.
You save money on heating oil in a few ways:
Make sure your home is well insulated and sealed against drafts and heat leakage.
Use a thermostat that’s working properly and calibrated accurately.
Increase energy efficiency by insulating your basement and attic.
Turn down your thermostat a few degrees.
Program your thermostat to lower the heat when you’re not home.
Order heating oil during the off-season when prices are likely to be lower.
Summer months tend to be when heating oil prices are lowest because of decreased demand. Buying heating oil during the off-season also prepares you for when the weather gets cold, and you need to start using the oil to heat your home. Although heating oil prices will fluctuate, it’s best to avoid purchasing between September and April, as that's the peak season for heating oil demand.
Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.
