"HPS was a good choice for renovating our condo bathroom and kitchen. The kind loan of a bathroom sink and installation of a plastic "wall" to keep the livingroom cleaner were essential as we chose to stay living at home through the demolition and construction. Their preferred providers of cabinets, countertops, flooring, appliances and fixtures are well-suited to our budget and design sensibilities. Ed Scherdick is our overall favorite workman. He always puts in a full workday, is excellent at interpreting our needs and wants on the job site, plus is a meticulous craftsman. In any remodel of this type, issues are bound to arise. When something would come up, HPS was always available by phone, email or in person. We were able to work things out with Project Manager Lenny Wright. The workmanship of the installations (cabinets and tile) was high quality. The project took longer than estimated, yet HPS did not sacrifice quality to meet a deadline. Fencing questions, answered by experts

For the most part, goats are friendly and won’t charge at you, but there are exceptions to this rule, as there are with any animal handling practices. Typically, goats don’t attack unless they feel threatened. Avoid cornering or rough handling goats to avoid getting head-butted, bitten, or kicked, and always supervise goats when they’re near children or pets.

Corrugated metal is a strong, long-lasting material. A corrugated metal fence will typically last several decades, and the metal panels themselves may last for 40 to 60 years. The main thing you should be concerned about is the fence posts. Wood fence posts will last about five years if you purchase them untreated or about 15 years if you treat them after installation. Keep an eye on your posts and look out for insect damage and rot.

In the vast majority of cases, chain-link fences are less expensive than wood fences. Installing a wood fence costs anywhere from 20% to 30% more than a chain-link fence, or an average of $3,100, whereas a similarly sized chain-link fence will average around $2,400. Even with add-ons and additional protective finishes, a chain-link fence is very likely to cost you less than a wood fence. The only exception would be a split rail wood fence, which can cost about half the price of a chain-link fence or less.

Wattle fences are typically around 4 feet tall, but they can be built taller or shorter depending on their intended use. Taller fences may require additional reinforcements, such as thicker posts or tighter weaving, to ensure the fence’s stability and durability against wind and other elements.

Posts for a horizontal fence should be no more than 6 feet apart. Wood pickets are not as strong when mounted horizontally as when mounted vertically. As such, the fence panels on a horizontal fence can’t cover the same span between posts as a vertical fence can. If you install the posts further apart on a horizontal fence, the fence will lose stability, making the boards more likely to sag.
