Small jobs welcome

"Trysen is very knowledgeable; he came out and gave us a free quote for my 1/2 acre project. His team worked flawlessly to get the cinder soil down and level, and applying the hydroseed for the lawn. His team made sure to protect my driveway from the heavy trucks on delivery of the soil and afterward cleaning up driveway and surrounding areas. Elite Landscaping has great customer service (Kimrah!) and are very attentive to our questions and needs. I would highly recommend Elite for all landscaping needs. P.S. 9 days from hydroseeding and the grass is sprouting…! 👍🏼"

"We want to take this opportunity to Mahalo Dominic of ʻKaʻū Tree Care’ for the excellent service your company provides. It can be difficult finding landscapers/land tenders who are hard working reliable, trustworthy, and consistent with follow through. Who are also exemplify knowledgeable, safe, regenerative and pono practices rooted in land stewardship for an abundant healthy future. No poisoning, demolishing of ecosystems or killing soil health for generations. Kaʻū Tree Care was able to offer place and plant base knowledge and design ideas/ suggestions that were terrific for our short term goals and long term needs. Dominic worked with us in regards to our budget, limited time (and knowledge) for upkeep. Dominic made everything easy and understandable. We very much appreciate his clear, concise communication and customer service. The level of respect and courteousness to his clients and the land itself was a level of professionalism greatly appreciated and spoke volumes to his character. We were very impressed by the level of maturity and pride in Dominic’s work. His attention to detail, integrity, passion, dedication and skill are unmatched. "What a great experience. My yard was a massive project. 5 acres of borderline jungle and grass that was 8 feet high. Tyrone and his team got this done in 2 days. He responded immediately to my Inquiry and was able to get me on the schedule quickly and at a reasonable price, considering the scale if the project. I plan on using him again as a develop my land."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

A window flower box should be deep enough that there’s room for a wide selection of plants and the required amount of soil and gravel. Standard flower boxes are 8 inches deep and 8 inches from front to back. Larger is better to increase the variety of plants in the box, but you could run into stability issues as it increases in weight.

It’s usually best to buy plants from a local greenhouse or nursery yourself, but landscapers are also a reliable option. First, you can choose exactly what plants you want based on their appearance rather than relying on your landscaper to choose. Additionally, while it’s more time-consuming to go buy the plants yourself, you’ll often save money because landscapers charge for delivery and may upcharge the plants. You can also speak to a professional at a nursery to ensure you understand how to care for your plants and get the most long-term value.

A full backyard renovation can cost between $15,000 and $50,000, depending on the scope of the project. Excavation, materials, and labor costs all contribute to the final cost of updating your outdoor spaces, and expensive features like a pool, a fence, or hardscaping carry a high price tag.

While you can leave roots in the ground, if you don’t want the shrub to regrow again over time, it’s best not to leave any roots behind. Ensure you remove as much of the shrub as possible, including the root ball and any main roots you can see, to prevent new growth. Some gardeners opt for using a chemical treatment to prevent the stump from growing back, but this can kill beneficial microorganisms living in your soil.

Yes, if you are using rocks to form a pathway or driveway, it’s a good idea to first install landscape fabric before layering in your rocks. Landscape fabric is your first line of defense against unwanted grass and weeds on your rocky surface.
