"Trysen is very knowledgeable; he came out and gave us a free quote for my 1/2 acre project. His team worked flawlessly to get the cinder soil down and level, and applying the hydroseed for the lawn. His team made sure to protect my driveway from the heavy trucks on delivery of the soil and afterward cleaning up driveway and surrounding areas. Elite Landscaping has great customer service (Kimrah!) and are very attentive to our questions and needs. I would highly recommend Elite for all landscaping needs. P.S. 9 days from hydroseeding and the grass is sprouting…! 👍🏼"

"If you need great service and easy to schedule then give Hilinaâ i Yard service a call. We just moved into our home after months of unkept yard service. We got some quotes and was impressed that Justin could do an initial yard service the next day! I told him what I wanted done and the crew turned my yard into masterpiece. I received complements for the yard maintenance! So happy!"

"What a great experience. My yard was a massive project. 5 acres of borderline jungle and grass that was 8 feet high. Tyrone and his team got this done in 2 days. He responded immediately to my Inquiry and was able to get me on the schedule quickly and at a reasonable price, considering the scale if the project. I plan on using him again as a develop my land."

"Khalil responded promptly by phone, made an in-person visit the same day to assess the project, spent considerable time making that assessment, and made a competitive bid within a day. He performed the job a few days later, and his work was excellent. I wholeheartedly recommend him."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Grass is the most popular and safest option for planting over a septic drain field, but you can also plant small flowering plants and other lightweight plants that don’t have woody or deep roots. Avoid trees and bushes within 10 feet of the field, as the woody roots can crack the perforated pipes. You should also avoid planting vegetable or fruit gardens over your drain field, as a leak from the pipes could contaminate the soil and put anyone who eats the produce at risk.

There are two main times of year to apply mulch: mid to late spring and late fall. Spreading mulch in mid to late spring helps protect new seedlings as the soil warms up. It's best to wait until temperatures are steady, as mulching too early in the spring can slow down the soil's warming process and hinder plant growth. Fall mulching is also beneficial, as it insulates the soil and helps regulate its temperature when the first frosts arrive.

Late August, September, and mid-October are the ideal months for planting a young tree. However, the best time to plant a tree ultimately depends on when the weather transitions to fall-like conditions and eventually winter frost. As long as the hottest days of summer have passed and the ground hasn’t frozen yet, you can still successfully plant trees.

You can fill the holes weeds leave behind with soil or sand to avoid unsightly spots or tripping hazards. If you remove weeds from a grassy area, fill the hole with soil and grass seed, and water regularly to promote grass growth.

Multiple rules of thumb exist when discussing tree planting. When planting a tree, the best rule of thumb is to provide it with everything it needs to survive and thrive in its new environment. That may mean learning about the type of tree you're planting and studying the best methods of taking care of it before purchasing and planting.
