Family owned business with over 24 years of experience handling all your Handyman jobs around the home and business. Back Yard renovations- outdoor living with kitchens, patio, pergolas, and decks. Kitchen and bathroom renovations on a budget.

"Service provider stated that she will charge $800 for her labor and be able to complete the work agreed to from 3/14/24 to 3/15/24 but was unable to complete the job. The job included soundproofing the open basement ceiling areas, finishing/ enclosing the ceiling with drywall and molding and installing panel doors in laundry area in basement as well as put plywood/ drywall to enclose open space next to the basement laundry area. She worked on the ceiling part on 3/14, 3/15 and 3/18 instead. She send a message at 9:32pm on 3/18 saying “I can’t do any more”. She then got upset when we questioned the botched workmanship in the ceiling which was incomplete and left in a haste without discussing anything else with us. She did not say anything about paying her, fixing the damaged HVAC hose, cleaning the areas she worked in or if she will come back to complete the job verbally. Instead she threatened to put a lien on our home. She damaged part of the HVAC airflow as well as totally left the floors full of debris. As well as left the adjourning bedroom unclean and full of left over building supplies. The job was not completed and it looks totally botched. We would like to have the HVAC hose that she damaged repaired or replaced as it may be disrupting airflow and in turn possible raise our heat bill in the meantime. We would like to be partially charged or not charged at all for this job as it has not only totally inconvenienced us, it was botched and also incomplete. This job will need to be totally redone and I paid for building supplies which was in access to $1000 which I would like to be reimbursed for. We would also like to have the area that is now filthy and scattered with debris and the building supplies used cleaned."

There are many reasons one bedroom may be hotter than the rest of the house. The sun will quickly heat a south-facing bedroom with a large window, especially if it lacks quality curtains. Spray foam insulation can last up to 80 to 100 years, making your investment worthwhile over the long run. Closed-cell spray foam tends to have the highest durability. Open-cell foam is subject to moisture, which can lead to deterioration. Remember that some spray foams will damage plastic piping, so consult a pro if you have PVC or CPVC pipes.

The easiest way to cover your HVAC ducts during construction is to use painter’s tape to affix plastic sheets over your vents and air returns in the area of your home where construction will take place. Keep in mind that closing off a portion of your system can put strain on your blower motor and air handler, so either shut the zone off or shut your system off while construction is underway. If you shut the zone, you can also hang plastic sheets over doorways to separate the construction area and keep dust contained.

In hotter climates, metal roofs will usually be better for home efficiency because the material reflects more sunlight and reduces solar heat gain.
