"Both Jayson and the installer Ron were great! I knew the color,  type of blinds, and estimated measurements of my windows. Therefore, Jayson was able to provide me with an accurate estimate of the costs associated with the job prior to placing my order. Within 24 hours of accepting his estimate, he came to my home and took exact measurents of my windows. My blinds arrived within 2-3 weeks. My blinds look fabulous! I will definitely utilize their services in the future.

"The Decka Team are just all around professional and great people. My Husband and I had a retractable awning installed on our patio and storage racks installed in our garage. Everything looks great and was completed in 2 days. We will definitely call on the Decka team for our future projects."

We placed new red oak stair treads over existing builder grade stair treads. The new treads are concaved (cut out) on the back to fit over existing treads without raising the height of step. They can be refinished several times, or painted. Low cost way to enhance your stairway.
Screen was attached at the soffit point of patio roof. It rolled down perfectly in front of the patio railing.

Such a pretty and relaxed looking patio. This awning made it complete.

Window Tinting questions, answered by experts

Modern windows provide enhanced UV protection, improved heat retention, and cooling efficiency, contributing to overall household energy savings.

Cellular shades, also known as honeycomb shades, are the most energy-efficient and insulating window treatments. Their honeycomb structure is made of soft fabric that forms layered cell pockets. These pockets trap air, creating a thermal barrier that reduces heat loss in the winter and blocks heat gain in the summer. For even greater insulation, consider double- or triple-cell varieties. Side-tracked cellular shades, which seal the edges of the window frame, can further minimize air leaks and maximize energy efficiency.

Often, window film won’t stick if the glass is too dirty; dust and debris can prevent the adhesive from working. Make sure to clean the glass thoroughly before installing the window film. Low-quality film, which may have a weaker adhesive, might also be the cause of your window film’s inability to stick.

The most popular tint percentage for home windows is 35%. Generally, most homeowners choose a visible light transmission (VLT) between 50% and 35%, where lower numbers mean less sunlight enters the home. A 35% tint blocks over half the incoming light while still allowing plenty of natural light, which can improve energy efficiency and comfort. If privacy is a primary concern, you can opt for a tint of 50% or lower to make it more difficult for people to see inside. However, keep in mind that very dark, thick tints may offer fewer energy-efficiency benefits.

Unlike cars, there are no laws regulating window tint percentages on homes, so you can choose what you think is best. It is often a good idea to hire a professional, as they can show you samples of how different tint levels will look in your specific property, helping you make the right choice.

If you have bubble wrap lying around the house and you don’t care about the odd look, taping bubble wrap over a window is a very affordable way to insulate it. Another inexpensive option for insulating windows is to add new caulk around the glass. This step quickly cuts down on air drafts for older windows, and a tube of caulk only costs a few dollars. Adding plastic shrink film around the glass is another cost-effective option. You can purchase a kit of plastic film for a few dollars per window.
