"We had just moved to the area and innthe move a curio Cabinet thsg belonged to my MIL had the glass shattered. I found Kendall Construction on a Google search. I reached out and within a few minutes had a call to schedule a time to come look at the cabinet. Mack was on time, looked at the job said he could do it , he took the glass and even noticed that the brackets holding thr glass in were mostly damaged. He replaced those and the glass within a few days.. would definitely recommend Kendall Construction for any of your cabinet needs"

"Professionalism at it's finest! From start to finish I can't express enough how stress free and comforting it was to work with this Team. They answered every single question I had prior to starting and during construction. They even sent pictures during the entire process because I wasn't available to physically be there while they did the work. This job was done on an older trailer with outdated ceiling texture which they did a fantastic job matching! These gentlemen were so nice and polite and cleaned up after everything was done. I highly recommended Blaine Construction for your next project that you need or are not able to finish which is what happened to me. 10 out of 10 STARS !"

"I contacted Mr. Handyman of Greater Savannah after an attempted break-in at my house left me with a broken window. The receptionist, Angela, was very polite while I explained what happened and how I needed to have the glass replaced in one window pane. She explained that the technicians work on an hourly wage ($165 for first hour, $110 for each additional hour) and that I would also have to pay a “travel fee” because my address is not within their normal boundaries. However, I was not told how much the fee was going be. Instead, it was explained that “it depends on how far the technician had to drive from the previous job.” The technician, John, then contacted me to set up an appointment time. I explained that I wanted to have glass replaced in the window pane. When John arrived at the appointed time, I expected that he would be able to perform the job I had requested to be done. John looked at the broken window and informed me that he was not able to replace the glass himself. He was able to remove the pane and take it to local glass stores to see if someone could fix it. I told him that was something I could do myself. Why would I pay someone else an hourly wage to do something I could myself? John offered to board the window for me and I said yes, that’s fine. I assumed a handy man would have some simple supplies on hand and available, but I was informed that he did not have plywood and would need to go to Lowe’s to pick some up. John returned and proceeded to board the window with plywood. After working on the job for a total of an hour and a half, John presented me with a bill of $426.29. I was appalled! Who charges $426 to board a window? John could not give me a receipt, he suggested I contact the receptionist to have it emailed. I felt I had no choice but to pay even though it was an incredibly high amount. According to the invoice that was emailed to me, I paid $360.50 for labor and $65.79 for materials. Based on the hourly price I was quoted and the fact that John worked for 90 minutes, I calculated the following: $165 1st hour of work + 55 for additional half hour --------------------------------------- $220 total hourly wage + 65.79 for materials -------------------------------------- $285.79 labor & materials $426.29 total cost - 285.79 labor & materials ----------------------------------------- $140.50 leftover So I am left to assume the remaining $140.50 was the “travel fee.” My address is 38 miles from the office of Mr. Handyman of Greater Savannah. Am I happy with the work done by John? He did a good job of hanging plywood, however, he did not complete the project that I hired him for. Am I happy with the services provided by Mr. Handyman? No, when I spoke to Angela she could have said, “I’m sorry ma’am, we are not able to replace glass windows.” Or, when John called to schedule the appointment he could have said, “I’m sorry ma’am, we are not able to replace glass windows.” I would have appreciated the honesty and integrity and maybe possibly used their services for some other future project. However, after spending $426.29 for a boarded window, I will never call Mr. Handyman or recommend them to anyone. I believe it is very sneaky how they could not give me a price for the travelling fee as well as the fact that I never saw or signed any agreement contract until after the job was complete (although the job intended was NOT complete). I feel as though I was robbed again. You fooled me once Mr. Handyman, but trust me, you will not fool me a second time."

The cost of cabinet refacing is $7,230 on average. However, it's possible to pay between $1,200 and $16,000 for this project. Factors like the number of cabinets and the refacing materials impact the total cost significantly.
For example, plastic laminate is the most cost-effective cabinet option for refacing, costing $1,000 to $3,000. If you're looking for solid wood cabinets, you can expect to pay more, ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 on average for refacing.
The difference between cabinet refinishing vs. cabinet refacing is that the latter involves replacing most of the cabinet components, whereas the former only freshes the exterior look of the cabinetry.
Cabinet refinishing involves the cabinetry being disassembled, cleaned, and sanded, then a new finish, like paint or glaze, is applied. You can refinish the cabinet doors or go further and refinish the cabinet boxes, too.
Cabinet refacing involves replacing the majority of the cabinet materials, including the cabinet, drawer doors, and hardware. In this process, a veneer is applied over the existing cabinet boxes to make them look new.
The cost to refinish cabinets is $3,000 on average. However, this cost can range from $700 to $6,000, depending on the size and location of the cabinets, the refinishing method, and number of cabinets.
Staining your cabinet doors is the most cost-effective option, costing between $4 and $10 per square foot. However, if you choose to glaze them, that price jumps to $10 to $25 per square foot.
While it’s possible to reface or refinish kitchen cabinets yourself, it requires substantial time, money, and sweat equity. In particular, cabinet refacing requires many tools and materials, costing you between $1,645 and $6,570, depending on what you already own. Besides that, this is a project that shows imperfections easily. If carpentry isn't your strong suit, hiring a cabinet professional is best to ensure high-quality results.
To prepare for cabinet refinishing or refacing, it’s important to remove all items from the cabinetry in question. In addition, clear any clutter from the room, whether it's the kitchen, bathroom, or otherwise. Be sure to have additional cabinet materials, such as cabinet hardware, lights, and glass inserts, ready for your cabinet installer to use.
Finally, if you have pets, ensure they are in a safe, separate location away from your cabinet professionals, who will bring materials in and out of your home during the process.
