"Wonderful. This is a family business and they were delightful, even dealing with my barking dogs and befriending them. I had 30 windows cleaned inside and out including screens and paid an additional $60 for the 4 skylights on my screened porch. Highly recommend."

"They were very expensive but the quality of the work was very good. They were very professional and easy to work with. I did have an issue with the manufacturers of the window but they fixed it right away. Everything at our home looks AMAZING and we couldn't be happier. Thank you so much Atlanta Window Pro! We will definitely choose them again for future projects."

"Sergio came to our home, checked out the skylights, saw there was a problem (we had spotting on our ceiling), took pictures, explained the problem to us and forwarded the pictures so we could see what he explained. Price was reasonable and he came to repair when he said he would. Highly recommend."

"Marcus beat two other contractors in the area.  He had the highest quality product and best price.  The installation was conducted safely and the cleanup was thorough.  He replaced damaged sections of decking and installed a "cricket" to improve drainage where the damage to the old roof had occurred.  He also installed a Solatube skylight.
It has been over a year since the installation, it has been one of the rainiest on record, and there have been no issues whatsoever.
I would use M&C Roofing again, but not for this house because I'm pretty sure this roof will outlive me.

"The crew got here early and completed the work in one day. Don was very thorough and clear with our estimate, Laurie, from the office was extremely helpful and kind throughout the process, and Luka was onsite to monitor the process. They did an excellent job; roof looks great."

Skylights questions, answered by experts

Skylights might sometimes increase your homeowners insurance premium, but the increase is usually minimal. Some home insurance companies won’t adjust your premium with the addition of a skylight, so you can contact your insurer or your professional skylight installer to ask about any expected changes. It’s crucial to have an expert install the skylight, as insurance companies may not insure your roof or cover water damage that results from a non-professional skylight installation.

Whether you need a permit to install a skylight depends on the scope of the project and local regulations. Generally, permits are required if the installation involves altering the structural components of your home, such as moving roof rafters. In some municipalities, a permit might also be necessary if the skylight protrudes above the highest point of your existing roof. However, if no structural changes are made, a permit may not be needed. The cost for a skylight installation permit is typically under $100. A convenient time to add a skylight is during a roof replacement, as your contractor can incorporate the new opening into the design.

There are four main types of lighting used in homes: ambient, task, accent, and decorative. Within these categories, there are a number of fixtures to choose from including ceiling-mounted lights, floor lamps, under-cabinet lights, track lighting, and more.

Choosing the fixture that’s right for you depends on your home design and the area you’re looking to illuminate.

Yes, you can cover up a skylight if you no longer wish to have it in your space. There are a few options for covering up a skylight. One option is to install a skylight cover or shade that can be easily opened or closed as needed, allowing you to control the amount of light entering the room. Another option is to cover the skylight with a solid material, such as plywood or drywall, effectively sealing it off. However, when covering a skylight, it's essential to ensure proper insulation and waterproofing to prevent any issues in the future.

Yes, you can add blinds or shades to both roof windows and skylights, but roof windows tend to have more options available. Retractable skylight shades are popular on both options for added privacy, light control, and heat reduction, although they’re more expensive than manually-operated blinds or shades. If you have a roof window or skylight set in a high ceiling, a motorized or solar-powered skylight window covering is probably your best bet.
