"Josh called right after I was on line with Home Advisor he came out the next day to see what I wanted done. I asked him to wait until after the Holidays to start the work. He notified me on January 2, 2018 when he would be out to start the job. He and his helper was very polite and courteous, and very business like. I love the job he did for us hanging two outdoor fans and running electrical lines with switches for the light and fan, 3 electrical plugs, running some additional switches in the basement and hanging 3 outside lights.. In the future if I need an Electrician I will be calling Armato Electric."

"Stonehenge got involved in the project after shoddy work by another company. They had to rip out a fire pit, retaining wall and cement stone 15’x 20’ deck, haul it off and start from scratch. They rebuilt everything, built a hand rail and railing around the deck. They also Installed a lighting system as well as designed and built 2 sidewalks with inlaid stone on both the sidewalks and deck. The work was completed as promised in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to use them again."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Yes, outdoor lights and receptacles should be on a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) for safety. The outdoors is considered a wet location where GFCI protection is generally required. A GFCI enhances safety by automatically tripping and shutting off the circuit if it detects an imbalance, which protects against electrocution and reduces the risk of an electrical fire. While it is the safest approach for all outdoor electrical components, specific requirements can vary depending on the type of light (e.g., pool lights), its location, and local electrical codes. For guidance tailored to your specific situation, it's best to consult a professional electrician.

The lifespan of a pool light depends on the type, but thankfully, these lights are designed to last a long time before they need to be replaced. LED bulbs last the longest, about 20,000 to 30,000 hours, while incandescent bulbs last the shortest amount of time, about 1,000 to 5,000 hours. Fiber optic pool lights will last around 6,000 hours.

Flickering lights, intermittent outages, or physical damage to fixtures signal immediate repair to avoid electrical hazards.

Outdoor lighting enhances security, improves curb appeal, and extends the usability of outdoor spaces.

If you’ve gone through the troubleshooting checklist for your motion detector flood light and it’s still not working, it’s time to consider a new one. Older models that need frequent fixes can be unreliable. Newer flood lights feature advanced technology that improves your lights’ sensitivity and overall performance. If you’re fed up with unexpected darkness, investing in a new light can give you the lighting you need to feel secure.
