"We called Southern Grace Exteriors to inspect the roof of a rental property we own in Hilton Head, SC. Our management company said we needed a new roof .... and that they could do it quickly for a HUGE price. We decided to get a second opinion and called Southern Grace. They showed up on time, climbed up on the roof with me and told us that our roof was just fine - probably had 10 more years left. They also said that whoever told us we needed a new roof didn't know what they were talking about. Honest and straight forward - a refreshing change to the norm for many contractors.

"The prompt response was great. Were able to perform services the same day I purchased deal (which I believe now was normal pricing). The young man did a good job cleaning gutters but did it all with a pressure hose and blew the contents all over the yard and onto a brand new paver patio I had just had put in the day before. After he left I saw all the crud all over the patio and furniture, dance and house. I was afraid if I had him come back to clean it he would use pressure wash and blow the sand out from between the pavers as it was in the stage of settling and I was still brushing additional sand into the crevices daily. I let the owner, Mike, know about the mess and after that he began explaining that I had received the Basic gutter cleaning service but could have opted for the Deluxe service. I told him that no one discussed two levels of services with me. Of course I would have chosen the one that included cleaning up ?. Mike did offer to send someone out to clean it up. I told him I had already done it myself because I couldn't have it done with pressure washer or hose and didn't want the black crud to dry all over. He said he would send me a gift cert for one of his favorite places in town for my inconvenience. I thanked him. The gift card never came. I felt silly reminding him about it but a person's word should be honored, He said he had been out of town and would make sure it was sent. This was last August 2014. It is now February 24th, 2015. I never did receive the gift card."

Sandblasting Services questions, answered by experts

There are two ways sandblasting could be dangerous: improper use of the equipment so that the stream touches your skin, and air particles created during the sandblasting process. While the first is easier to avoid and fairly obvious, the second has the potential to be more serious and is much more difficult to understand. This is why you should always hire a pro to sandblast, as they understand the dangers associated with the process. If proper safety measures are taken, then sandblasting is rarely dangerous.

Sandblasting is useful when you need to strip material off a hard surface. Common reasons to sandblast are to remove paint, rust, or get a surface ready for a new material. You aren’t limited to surfaces like walls either—you can sandblast rusted tools, bicycle frames, cement, bricks, and many others. If what you’re sandblasting is still structurally sound, sandblasting can be a fast and inexpensive way to revive the original material.

Because these two systems have different applications, there is no definitive answer to which is better. When working with sturdy materials, sandblasting is cheaper and faster, but more delicate projects require soda blasting. Before choosing either option, consider your specific needs, particularly your ultimate goal (cleaning, removing rust, prepping for painting, etc.), the material, and your budget.

Sandblasting removes old paint, rust, and grime efficiently, providing a clean surface for refinishing.

DIY is possible, but professional services ensure even removal, safety compliance, and proper cleanup.
