"Prompt response for quote which was considerably lower than others (most never  bothered to call me back )and was in line with cost my brother who is a builder in Bham said it should cost , short delay in installation but called well in advance to reschedule, cleaned up afterward, showed pictures of installation, no hidden costs, only problem was asked about installing baffles in path to attic furnace when quote was obtained  but they blew in everything and now I have @ 12 inches of insulation between attic entrance and furnace, called them about fixing this but never responded

"I had an insurance claim and got quotes from several roofers. Chris from Braxco set himself apart. He listened to my concerns, answered my questions, and went over everything throughly. The new roof took a day and the crew worked really hard on it. It looks amazing. Chris then dealt with the insurance to close things out. I can’t recommend Braxco enough!! 5 ⭐️"

"Double O Insulation technicians were professional, prompt, and affordable. They did an excellent job, lining the access panel and surround, and taking pictures of the finished job. I would recommend them to anyone needing attic insulation."

"The whole team at USA Insulation was a pleasure to work with - I experienced a friendly, professional level of service from the receptionist answering phone calls and scheduling, from the consultant who provided the job estimates, and to the two-person installation team. We only insulated the back addition of the house, for the walls and sub-floor above crawl space. Based on my experience with USA Insulation, I plan to hire them again to finish the rest of the house."

"These guys are the real deal. Excellent job and couldn't be happier with the result and the very fair pricing, which was significantly less than all the other quotes we received. They completed our old insulation extraction and spray foam installation in a 1600 sq.ft. attic in only five hours! 24 hours later we are back in our home with only very minimal odor from the foam. Even though the weather is cooling here I can already tell a significant difference in the midday temperature in the attic. We also now have a HUGE new storage area which prior to the foam install was largely unusable because of the extreme temperatures. Fantastic!!!"

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Adding insulation to ceilings is an excellent way to increase the energy efficiency of your home. If your home's layout is such that you need insulation in the ceilings rather than in the roof, it's likely that at least some insulation already exists in the space. However, each additional inch of insulation you can add boosts the R-value by between 2.2 and 4.2.

The cost to install a radiant barrier ranges from $700 to $2,800, depending on the size of your roof and the type you choose. Most people pay an average of $1,700 to install a radiant barrier. Foil options, both single- and double-sided, cost between $0.10 and $0.90 per square foot, while spray-on options start at $0.60 and go all the way up to $1 per square foot—which can add up quickly.

Yes, even though frost-free and freeze-proof faucets are designed to withstand winter weather, it is still recommended to cover them with an insulated cap, especially during periods of extreme cold. These faucets work by keeping excess water inside the home's heated space and using a downward slope to drain, but this protection can be compromised. For the faucet to work correctly, you must always disconnect any attached hoses before temperatures drop below freezing, as a hose can trap water and lead to freezing. Ultimately, covering all outdoor faucets, even freeze-proof models, is the best way to prevent frozen and burst pipes.

To keep cold out, look for treatments that sit close to the window frame and are made from thick, insulating materials. Thermal curtains, cellular shades, window quilts, and insulated shutters can all help retain heat. Layering window treatments, like pairing lined curtains with cellular shades, can provide even better insulation by further reducing drafts and heat transfer.

No, 55 degrees Fahrenheit is not too cold for a house, as it’s a temperature that will keep your pipes and appliances from freezing. Well-insulated homes can even go to 50 degrees, but check with an HVAC pro before opting for such a low temperature. Stick to 55 degrees to be on the safe side.
