"We had an outstanding experience with Make a Choice Home Exterior. Our home is 3-sides brick and several pieces of siding and trim had begun to rot. We also had 2 fixed pane 4'x5' windows replaced and the entire house painted. Our project manager, Ivan was fantastic and we couldn't have asked for a more professional person. He was attentive to our needs and desires and would offer recommendations when asked. It was obvious that customer satisfaction was his goal. At the end of everyday during our project, other than the completed work, we couldn't tell the work crew was onsite, everything was cleaned up! We already have other projects in mind for Make a Choice Home Exterior."

"I had two other contractors come out and do estimates besides Best Gutter. Out of the 3, Sergio was the most detailed and informative and spent the most time in seeing what needed to be done. He is very knowledgeable and professional. He replaced all gutters, flashing and repaired siding that was damaged on my house. Pricing was reasonable and competitive. There should be small gaps between your roof and the walls of your home, and other buildings. The best types of siding to withstand hail are fiber cement siding and engineered wood siding. Fiber cement siding is known for impact resistance, while some brands of engineered wood siding can withstand hail as big as 1 and 3/4 inches with no marks. Vinyl and aluminum siding are the most susceptible to hail.

A self-etching primer is the best option for aluminum siding. These are specifically designed to bond with bare metals, among other surfaces, leading to better adhesion and corrosion resistance. An oil-based primer is a good alternative if you can’t find a self-etching primer.

When it comes to fiber cement siding maintenance, it’s not too much work. However, it needs to be painted about every 15 years and may need to be re-caulked to prevent mold. Be sure to also wash your fiber cement siding with a lower-powered garden hose at least twice a year to avoid buildup and fading as well.
