"The workers were extremely efficient and finished faster than I expected. The insulation, radiant barriers in my dormers as well as replacement of a non functioning attic exhaust fan was well done. Price was very reasonable. I'm looking forward to reducing my energy costs and having a more comfortable living space. 5 stars for sure."

"I cannot say enough good things about this company! From start to finish, the experience was absolutely outstanding. The blown-in insulation made a HUGE difference in our home ? it?s already more comfortable and energy efficient. But what really sets this business apart is the owner. He went above and beyond in every way. Professional, honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring about the quality of his work. You can tell he takes pride in what he does and truly values his customers. He explained everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure the job was done perfectly. It?s rare to find a business owner this dedicated and trustworthy. If you?re considering blown-in insulation, don?t hesitate ? this is the company you want. Highly, highly recommend!"

"They were excellent! The guy that can was so patient with me. I like to know what’s going on step by step due to my anxiety, and the guy had so much patience with me. He also explained the added work that needed to be done and the way extra cost. He walked me through it and made her feel comfortable. I won’t be going with anyone else."

"Ryan answered all of my questions and concerns about the foam product they use and shared with me the practices they use to ensure the foam is installed correctly for maximum insulation value. At no point did I feel any sales pressure. Ryan and his crew did a great job on installation -- they were quick, friendly, and clean. On installation day there were a couple of decisions that we had to make-- the space above our windows was only accessible from inside the house. They recommended insulating this area from the inside, until we found out that the amount of empty cavity space was much smaller than anticipated. Another small area on our front porch was accessible from the outside but because of a peculiarity with the house's architecture could not safely be injected with foam. For this area they gave us the option of blowing in insulation into the cavity (no extra charge). I was pleased that they were willing to go above and beyond what we originally discussed to do the best job possible insulating the home, when it would have been just as easy to disregard the particular challenges our house faced. Ryan shared with me infrared images of our walls, which they use to verify that every cavity gets insulated. I also got to see an extra piece of the foam and how it hardens to a styrofoam-like consistency over time. They patched all of the holes on the mortar of the brick so that you can't even tell the work was done. Since the insulation was installed it has been much more comfortable indoors and our furnace has been running a lot less often. The airplane noise has significantly been muffled from the insulation in the wall (we don't live directly under the flight path). Also, this company submitted a Georgia Power rebate claim for us. I highly recommend this company, especially for those with older homes lacking in wall insulation."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is possible to have too much insulation, which can have detrimental effects. While more insulation might seem better for energy efficiency, a home needs to "breathe" or ventilate to release moisture that accumulates inside. Over-insulating can seal a house too tightly, trapping water vapor and leading to several problems, including mold, mildew, and condensation. Homes in warm, humid climates are particularly susceptible to mold, while those in colder climates can experience condensation from temperature fluctuations. Additionally, adding more insulation than the recommended amount for your climate may not provide recoverable energy savings. To avoid these issues, consult a professional insulation contractor who can determine the optimal amount of insulation for your home.

Not necessarily. A higher R-value simply means that the insulation has a higher heat resistance and performs better in terms of how much heat passes through the material. This can be better for some homes, or it can be too high of an R-value for other homes. Again, your climate zone determines whether the insulation is better for your home.

If the outside temperature drops below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, it will take around six hours for your pipes to freeze—and they might even burst. That’s why keeping your mobile home’s temperature around 50 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit is necessary, even if you’re leaving it vacant for the winter. In addition, having ample skirting around the mobile home's underbelly will help keep pipes insulated during the winter.

The best type of attic insulation depends on where you live, your budget, and what stage of construction the attic is in. For example, if you're building a house, then structural insulated panels are a worthy investment since they're easy to install during construction and they're the most energy-efficient type of insulation.

Additionally, if you live in a very warm climate, then you can potentially save quite a bit of money by opting for reflective insulation, which is more affordable than comprehensive insulation but doesn't work well for cool climates. Blown-in, loose-fill, and spray foam insulation are all great options for attics in moderate climates.

You do not need to drywall over most types of garage insulation. However, doing so can increase noise reduction, make the space more attractive, and keep children and pets from touching harmful fiberglass insulation. If you’re using cellulose or some other type of blown-in insulation (fiberglass and mineral wool are common), you will need drywall to contain the insulation material.
