"We originally contacted J&H to come out and look at existing joists under the house for termite damage. They came out and were very honest and said they did not see any damage and did not charge us. I then remembered that I had a report from our termite company with a blueprint of where they had treated under the house and where they said the damage was. Josh came back out and they researched underneath the house and found the termite damage. They were very honest and very reasonable and did a great job. They replaced the subflooring and joists and flooring in the kitchen. They kept us informed with pictures throughout the project. We are definitely going to use them again in the future and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs any type of construction or structural work done. "

"Our experience has not been good. We hired John to prep the ground an seed. Our start date was canceled and rescheduled 4 times. The day they arrived, we had concerns about the forecasted rain storms that were starting that evening. We were told the nylon mesh would hold the seed in place. It didn't, the next day we had deep rain ruts under the mesh, and expressed concern about the damage the rain did. No one came by to look at it, we continued reaching out, again we were canceled and rescheduled multiple times. ( Never put mesh in your yard, we have spent countless hours picking up trash bags full of this material It is still everywhere), this work was performed June 2024. These are the pictures as of Feb 2025. $7k job plus the hundreds of gallons of watering, yielded these results. Very unhappy customers."

There are three layers of wastewater in a septic tank: scum (solid waste that floats to the top of the wastewater), liquid (the relatively clean liquid wastewater in between the two other layers), and sludge (solid waste that falls to the bottom of the wastewater). The buildup of sludge is one of the main reasons septic tanks need to be pumped. If the tank is more than 1/3 of the way full with a combination of sludge and scum, it’s time to call a pro for pumping.

There are a few signs that indicate a failing drain field. For instance, if your septic tank starts requiring more pumping than normal, your drain field might be failing. While the lifespan of your septic system will depend on a variety of factors, including how well you keep up with regular inspections and maintenance, it will eventually need replacement. Most septic tanks can last between 20 and 30 years, and under good circumstances, a septic drainage field may last up to 50. On average, though, about every 30 years or so, a major septic renovation will be necessary.
