"Donnie was awesome, very professional and friendly. He hung one pendant light in my stairwell that I can now happily reach to clean! He also relocated two power boxes as I wanted my ceiling lights centered over tables, and he did a beautiful job there as well."

"Working with Emily made me wonder why I put off decorating our guest room for so long!!! She made such a warm and inviting space for our guests to stay. The space is super relaxing which is great because when you're visiting me, you're visiting my 3 kids, 3 and under. One of my favorite parts is she was able to give me pieces to buy in my price range (ya know Target). This became such a fun project that I had been seriously dreading! Thanks Emily!!!"

Lighting questions, answered by experts

While wet-rated and damp-rated lighting is designed to handle contact with moisture, there’s a difference between the two. Wet-rated lighting is safety-rated to be placed in areas with direct exposure to water, including your shower. Fixtures classed as wet-rated are made with waterproof seals to protect the filament and other electrical components from water and moisture.

Damp-rated fixtures can be used in places with some moisture contact, but not direct exposure. They don’t have the same waterproof seals used in wet-rated fixtures. Damp-rated lighting can be used on your bathroom ceiling or along a wall outside of your shower.

The cost to repair a short circuit depends on the type of repair. A faulty outlet or simple loose wire can be a simple fix that might only cost a handful of dollars. For example, if you need to rewire a house, you’ll spend around $2 to $4 per square foot, but replacing an entire electrical panel costs anywhere from $500 to $2,100.

Common outdoor lighting issues include faulty or exposed wiring, burnt-out or damaged bulbs, and broken or faulty fixtures. Regular maintenance can help prevent many of these problems.

The average cost to install outdoor or landscape lighting is around $4,000, with most projects ranging from $2,000 to $6,000. The total cost can vary widely depending on several factors, including the number of fixtures, design complexity, and the type and quality of the lights used, such as wall sconces, pathway lights, or lamp posts. Other factors that influence the price are the square footage of the area being lit, the amount of electrical work needed, any required excavation or trenching, and local permitting costs. For specific types, you might pay around $100 for pathway or string lighting and up to $700 for lamp post lighting.

Table lamps, floor lamps, chandeliers, desk lamps, and antique or decorative light fixtures that hold sentimental or aesthetic value are commonly repaired.
