"They had to take out a portion of my front wall which was not planned on, and the conic quality of the concrete was not as good as I thought it should be they destroyed the brick wall that they said they would be able to save and I think they also damaged an additional plumbing line, which I’m going to have to have repaired But we did get the leaking stopped, which was the big part of the problem they had to dig up the entire front foundation down to the 8 foot footer and re-waterproof the wall put in a French drain system and a new drainage system for the gutter and a sump pump"

"Very timely response and quote process. Started the job when they said they would and did an excellent job repairing stack stone on our fireplace and front of home. "James, Brandon, and Devon were courteous, professional, responsive, worked hard, and did a good job. I had wall anchors installed, and helical piers to brace my leaning chimney and one down-slope corner of my house. Also had separate crew, Logan, Noah, and Bernard, follow with waterproofing. They were similarly courteous, professional, responsive, worked hard, and did a good job. 3 days for part one, one day for part two. Hauled away debris, including excavated dirt, and cleaned up reasonably. Total cost almost $20k; with lifetime transferable warranty, 3-year service plan, and 0% one-year financing."

"We are just thrilled with the outcome. A basement that had leaked (flooded when heavy rain) for too many years to count. Never thought it could be fixed. Nate is great to work with, honest, knowledgeable and price is beyond fair. He did come back as soon as we had a problem with an area leaking and repaired it. Can't beat a lifetime warranty."

"I needed a 40x40 concrete foundation for my 3 car garage and extensive driveway/sidewalks installed connecting it to the main house. He and his workers did it all professionally and timely. I am very pleased with the results. Frank is a conscientious person and does things the right way. He also gave me a really good price for the big job. I highly recommend Greystone Concrete Masters."

"I hired John the beginning of this fall for a clean up and to cut down some branches from a tree in my backyard that was hanging on the roof that could fall any minute with a storm. John did an excellent job with it executing the project and making sure my house did not get a scratch. Now heâ s doing maintenance on my lawn by blowing leaves and trimming my bushes. Looks amazing for the holidays coming up. I definitely recommend."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

Natural stone is formed in deep layers of the Earth through natural processes over thousands of years. The solid composition formations become massive rock beds, or quarries, from which miners extract them.

Brick and stone are durable, low-maintenance materials that offer excellent insulation, aesthetic appeal, and can increase property value.

Masonry is an umbrella term that involves adhering individual building materials together using an adhesive, so many different things are considered masonry. These include constructing stone or brick walls or facades, installing stucco siding, installing backsplashes or tile floors, and even installing glass block windows, in some cases. Masonry materials include natural stone, clay bricks, concrete bricks, glass blocks, and tiles.

On average, a quality exterior brick stain can last between 10 and 20 years, and sometimes even longer. While it will look its best for a minimum of three to five years, its total lifespan depends on several factors. These include the quality and type of stain used, the condition of the brick, and the thoroughness of the surface preparation, such as proper cleaning. Following the manufacturer's application instructions and applying a sealant as a final step is also crucial. The stain's longevity can be affected by your location, climate, and the brick's exposure to harsh weather, high traffic, and other elements. Over time, the stain may begin to fade or look dingy due to weathering, erosion, dirt, and debris. Compared to paint, brick stain generally has a longer lifespan.

No, you shouldn’t lay bricks directly on dirt. While it might seem like a shortcut, it leads to a patio that shifts, sinks, and becomes a maintenance headache. Dirt expands, contracts, and erodes—none of which mix well with long-term stability. To build something that lasts, excavate the topsoil, compact a layer of crushed gravel, and add a coarse sand-setting bed. This layered base gives your bricks proper support, allows drainage, and helps block weeds from creeping through. Cutting corners here just means you’ll spend more time—and money—repairing your brick patio later.
