We can do a little bit of everything from simple assembly jobs to larger home repairs. We paint, install new light fixtures and fans, repair fences and install them and that just a few examples. Billy has spent most of his time as a mechanic and would do hand man work on the side, he enjoyed the handyman work so much that he has chosen to make it a full time career. Factory finish-like painting of dated cabinetry with quality primer & paint products to update your kitchen cabinets, island, or bathroom vanities. In business for 3+ years and owner-operated, I have transformed many kitchens/bathrooms around the Atlanta & Marietta area. I come work onsite and I will remove all the doors/hardware and put them back when the job is complete. I also do extensive prep work to ensure the cabinets are deglossed and lightly sanded so that the paint has a better surface to adhere to. I then fill any holes or gaps before painting to make the cabinets look as new as possible, and tape off the floors, walls, and backsplashes before getting started. I prefer to use either Benjamin Moore Advance Formula or Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane, both great formulas for cabinetry. Especially with the high quality bonding primer I use beforehand. "Caitlin is amazing. After talking she understood exactly what we wanted with refinishing our kitchen cabinets. The quality of her products and the quality of her work are unmatched. Reliable and efficient. Job completed in a very timely manner but absolutely no shortcuts. Would absolutely use her again. I highly recommend her."

Furniture Refinishing questions, answered by experts

The difference between resurfacing and refinishing is that refinishing only works on solid surfaces that are in good condition, whereas resurfacing will restore a cracked or worn surface to its original, blemish-free state. Refinishing will leave you with a smooth and glossy surface you can’t get from resurfacing alone. If that’s the look you’re going for, contact a local concrete finishing contractor to achieve it.

For small, simple pieces that aren’t antiques, a professional furniture refinisher can usually refinish a piece in two to three hours, while larger pieces—like bed frames and full dining sets—could take several days. Your refinishing professional should be able to give you an estimated timeline for the work before getting started so that you can plan to be without your furniture during the process. Antique furniture might require additional time and take a week or more to refinish, as they require special care to avoid damage.

To treat sun-damaged furniture, clean the surface thoroughly to remove dirt and debris. Next, assess the damage: Consider refinishing or applying a protective sealant for faded finishes. Apply furniture oil or conditioner to restore moisture to cracked or dry wood. Remember, the best way to treat your furniture is to prevent damage in the first place. Regular maintenance and preventive measures will keep your furniture looking its best. Lastly, it may be best to consult a professional furniture restorer or refinisher for expert repairs and restoration in severe cases.

Not always—heavily worn or broken furniture often isn’t worth repairing or refinishing (if it’s even possible). While some damage can be repaired and some of the visual appeal restored, major flaws, such as structural issues, can’t be fixed as easily. If you still want a cost-saving furniture refinishing project rather than purchasing all new, consider shopping for similar secondhand pieces at thrift stores, garage sales, and estate sales.

No. Once you apply refinishing oil, it will continue to seep into the wood, making it difficult or impossible to refinish over top of it. Since the product contains an oil that’s meant to penetrate existing finishes, almost anything you put on top of it will bring the previous layer of stain with it. If you plan to refinish your cabinets more than once, it’s a good idea to go with the traditional method of sanding before applying a new finish to the surface.
