"After many failed attempts to locate some one that would provide residential paving t turned to Angi and solicited a request. Road Solutions contacted me within the hour and came the next day to provide a quote. Coming from a family of pavers my criteria was unique for a paving company to perform the work. They were very professional and quality oriented. With the quote in hand I immediately awarded them the job. Cost was inline with my exepectation an research. They arrived on time and immediately got to work. No wasted efforts. They kept us involved and informed during the work. They exceeded my expectations and work performed perfectly in a quality manner. I highly recommend Russell and his team. You wonâ t go hiring them"

My name is Dusty Shook, I am the owner of ShookScapes LLC. Yes the name is new, but the business is not. I have been in the industry now for 20 plus years under the names Shook Lawn Maintenance and PamScapes LLC. Those 2 companies were ran and owned by my mom, Pam Shook. She is now after 30 plus years in the industry retiring and I am taking over and look forward to serving each and everyone in the north Georgia area under the new name ShookScapes. \nMy companies primary focus is “making your dream yard your reality.” The pictures I’m attaching below are just little snippets of my customers vision and my reality of making it happen. If you have been thinking and dreaming of a front yard or back yard oasis message me, email me or call. I will set up a time to meet up with you to create your very own dream yard!

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Yes, but it's best to kill off the grass with solarization and remove the dead plant matter before laying down the pavers. This helps limit the chance of your pavers shifting as the dead plant matter decomposes.

Paving is a part of hardscaping, so all paving is hardscaping, but not all hardscaping is paving. Paving involves laying down concrete or asphalt, while hardscaping can also include the use of paving stones, bricks, gravel, wood, and more. Hardscape features that involve paving are considered permanent and will increase your property taxes, while some other hardscaping features—like those involving bricks, gravel, and paving stones—will not affect property taxes. Paving also typically requires a permit, while hardscaping features considered temporary will not.

Yes, permeable paving is expensive. For driveways, expect to pay up to $70 per square foot; for patios, permeable paving can cost up to $30 per square foot. Costs will depend on the type of material you choose, plus the standard labor rate in your area.

While some areas may allow for a slope of up to 20%, this is often the maximum slope for driveways, with a few exceptions of up to 25%. Other regions may have a maximum of 12%, 15%, or 18%, so check with your local building department to ensure you’re laying a driveway that is up to code for your location.

A traditional driveway gate isn’t your only option when installing a barricade in front of your driveway. A security gate like a swing gate, double swing gate, bi-folding gate, vertical gate, or pivot gate could work just as well as your driveway gate—if not better for your home depending on which qualities you’re after. Like sliding driveway gates, many of these alternatives work with automatic features that simplify entering and exiting your property.
