"Prime Granite Designs was very professional from the start to the end. I worked with Nay and she communicated every step of the way, was on time for appointments and made sure that all my questions and concerns was addressed. The installer was Jones and he did a wonderful job. He made sure I was satisfied with everything before he left. He did the job in a timely manner. I am truly satisfied with the outcome. I highly recommend Prime Granite Design for all your countertop needs.. Mary of Atlanta, Georgia"

"Dul was great! Did a fantastic job on my kitchen countertops and the price for quartz and installation was barely more than the laminate countertops/plumbing/haul away fee that I was quoted from a diy store. He even came back to add a piece of stone to my window sill because he noticed that I like succulents and my window sill wasnâ t wide enough to hold them. I will definitely use him in the future."

"Super professional. High precision cutting was needed to fit my mid-century, uneven walls, and got it right the first time. Cuts were made outside which kept my home clean and they installed my island stone surface, too. They matched my windowsill shelf, as well. Beautiful job."

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can install a farmhouse sink on an existing countertop—but there are some caveats. You’ll need to precisely measure. It’s best to choose a sink that’s the same dimensions as your existing sink, since your contractor won’t have to cut the countertop. Otherwise, pay close attention to the depth of your counter (the front to back measurement). You don’t want to install something that’s so big it sticks out beyond your countertop and cabinetry.

Yes, marble countertops are fairly soft and can scratch easily, especially compared to rival materials. However, most marble scratches are easy to repair, thanks to marble polish and repair kits. Deep scratches will require a professional.

You can resurface existing countertops as long as they’re not significantly damaged. Of course, it does depend on the material. Wood, natural stone, quartz, and even laminate are all good candidates for resurfacing. If you have tile, you may want to just replace the damaged tiles rather than resurface the entire countertop.

If the damage is minor, you can repair countertops without replacing them. You can also resurface a laminate countertop rather than replace it when it gets old and dingy. Countertop resurfacing is a relatively easy project, though it can be time-consuming, so you may prefer to hire a pro to do this for you.

Granite countertops cost an average of $3,250 compared to $2,250 for tile countertops. Granite is also harder to DIY than tile, given its weight and bulk, which increases the overall labor cost of installation. Over time, both types of countertops may need sealing to remain resistant to water, heat, and other common kitchen elements.
