"We have gone through a nightmare of a renovation, but Randy and his crew were one of the few positive experiences. They are talented, professional and reliable. They show up on time, work a full day and clean up afterwards. I first met with Randy but ended up going with a crew that was available sooner, and that was a HUGE mistake. We had to fire the crew because their work was beyond horrible, from drywalling to paint. Most of the work they "did" had to be redone by Randy's crew. I ended up spending a lot more money as a result. If you have to wait for RMJ Quality Painting, trust me, they are worth the wait. They did most of our interior work and white washed the brick on the outside of our house. If there is a problem, Randy fixes it immediately, no questions asked. And he responds to texts right away. His brother Douglas also did great stonework for us. Can't recommend them highly enough!"

"The owners are very conscientious and will go out of their way to ensure you are happy with the work. We had a mixup over the paint coloring for the molding. They quickly corrected the issue and followed up to make sure we were happy with the results. No payment is due until services are rendered, so you can be assured they will do a great job. The molding looks great and they sanded the walls before painting to help rid the walls of imperfections. We will call upon them again in the near future for household projects. They were easy to work with and care about the final project. You won’t regret selecting J&J."

"I had a walkway, steps, and columns constructed. The columns are uneven and different sizes. I have emailed several times asking for repairs. I received response emails to each of my requests, but repairs have yet to be made and may not be made. Work was performed in June. I had a fence project prepared but have had to put it on hold until the columns are repaired. If the columns remain unrepaired I will never refer this professional again. However, if the columns are repaired, I may refer the professional. Additionally, my rating may change dependent on the ultimate outcome of the request for repairs. The walkway and steps look wonderful!"

Stucco questions, answered by experts

The best way to assess that your stucco needs repair is to inspect it, both visually and physically. If you notice cracks, chips, or staining, that’s a good indication that your stucco could use some TLC by a professional. Additionally, if you touch an area that feels soft and has a little “give,” you should consider repairing it as soon as possible to avoid further damage, both to additional stucco spots and to your home’s structure.

When cleaning stucco siding, it is recommended to use a pressure washer with a psi (pounds per square inch) between 1,500 and 2,000. This range provides sufficient power to remove dirt and grime without causing damage to the stucco surface. It's important to avoid using excessive psi as it can chip or crack the stucco.

Using a wider spray nozzle and keeping a safe distance of about seven to 10 feet from the siding helps ensure a gentle and effective cleaning process. Always follow the manufacturer's guidelines and adjust the psi accordingly based on the condition of your stucco and the specific requirements of your pressure washer.

Yes, you can screw directly into stucco. Only do so if the item you are installing is a permanent fixture. Drill a pilot hole into the stucco using a masonry or concrete bit, then drive in the screw with a power drill or screwdriver.

Stucco will dry in two to three days, but you should wait one to two months to allow it to cure fully before you paint it. The curing process is slow, but leaving the material exposed to air and natural moisture will help it reach its maximum strength. If you live in a hot, arid climate, wait a month before painting. Wait two months before painting if you live in a more moderate or wet climate.

Properly maintained stucco can enhance insulation, reducing energy loss.
