"I had 3 appointments with this service. My 1st appt was Sunday 22nd between 11am 12 Noon, they arrived at approx 12 noon, they I mean a full grown man with a child approx 12 to 15 years old; work performed was just ok; said I would give them a 2nd chance since he had a child; perhaps the next time would be better along with some professional grown men. Well the 2nd visit was June 5th; they came with the same grown man and two children, one being approx 8 - 9 years old and they 12 to 15 year old; the father trimmed my hedges, the 15 year old mowed the front lawn, and 9 year old mowed the back yard (with my personal mower); at any rate the grown man was trimming the hedges; after he finished; the man told me that he didn't bring the proper tools to complete the hedges properly and he would touch the hedges up on the next visit. Well the next visit was scheduled for June 19th; they arrived, 15 year old and grown man; I remined the man that he was to touch up the hedges; he refused and said that would be another charge. Well I called the office; found out its a family business and the wife wasn't nice, I asked for a discount...because they charged me $165. $100 for the hedges and $65 for the mowing. I inquired about the price of the hedges; I asked how did they arrive at a $100...was it by square feet; height etc...the wife said no; she said, I have a lot of hedges and they were tall. She couldn't provide the reasoning for the charge of $100...mid you; I don't have hedges surrounding my house; only a few in the front and row on the left side. I was nice and asked perhaps if I could get a discount; the owner/wife was very rude; refused to offer a discount; refused to try to resolve the issue in a kind manner. She told me she was a barred attorney and I better be honest with my review or else she would sue me for slander. I informed her that I was a Insurance Property Claims manager; and what they are doing was illegal under the Child Labor Laws in Georgia. Its ok to train your children to work; but not on someone else's personal or commercial property. I would rather have full grown men preform the duties in my yard rather than children. I can't afford the liability of a child being injured on my property; 2nd I pay for the service of a professional; not a child/children. Be very careful to choose a professional establishment. I cancelled my subscription and was able to locate a professional service. I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!"

FAQs for lawn service projects in Atlanta, GA

Depending on the areas that a lawn care company specializes in, most companies offer a core set of services that usually include:

  • Mulch

  • Lawn aeration

  • Tree trimming and pruning

  • Pest control

  • Landscaping

  • Leaf removal

  • Spring and fall cleanup

  • Shrub trimming and pruning

Check with local lawn care companies to confirm that they offer the services you’re looking for.

The average cost to mow a lawn is about $125, ranging between $50 and $200 per cutting, depending on yard size. Other cost factors include the shape of your lawn, accessibility, lawn health, type of grass, length of grass, and frequency of the mowing schedule. The cost to cut your grass will also vary depending on where you live. If your landscaper has to maneuver around obstacles or deal with hard to reach areas and steep slopes, this will likely increase your total mowing costs.

The recommended frequency to fertilize your lawn depends on the health of your lawn. If the grass is healthy and you have good soil, you may only need to apply fertilizer once yearly. However, if your lawn has shallow roots or poor, sandy soil that lacks the nutrients that grass needs to thrive, you may need to fertilize the lawn every six weeks.

On average, the cost to hydroseed ranges between $500 and $4,000. The cost depends on the size of the area you’re hydroseeding, the type of grass seed, slope of your yard, and other factors. Hydroseed is a mixture of grass seed, fertilizer, water, and mulch that you spray on the lawn using a pressurized sprayer. While the process is more expensive than seeding, grass will grow more quickly, and is often healthier.

Yes, it can be cheaper to fertilize your own lawn. DIY lawn fertilization saves the cost of hiring a lawn care company or a company that specializes in lawn fertilization. It’s important to handle fertilizer carefully to avoid the potential dangers of getting fertilizing chemicals on your skin. Also, using the wrong type of fertilizer or misapplying it can permanently damage your lawn. On average, the cost to fertilize your lawn using a professional lawn care service is about $250 and may be worth checking into as professionals tend to have the equipment and knowledge to apply the most effective blend of fertilizer to your lawn for the best results.
