"     In order to complete to layout design I submitted a drawing of the room as well as a series of photos.  The website for Homemade design has a questionaire what helps define your overall tastes in design.  I joined Pinterest and started boards for furniture, lighting, bookshelves which were reviewed.  Homemade design comes to New York periodically to meet with clients not in the Boston area and this gave us a chance to meet and select furniture and upholstery at the New York Design center.  This is an extra charge but well worth it since I was completely overwhelmed.  They were extremely patient and guided me through the process.  At one point I decided to move the television which turned out to be a bad idea -- they explained why it would not worked and I concurred competely after I understood the reasons.  So, they are not afraid to tell you if you going down the wrong road. I live in a New York City townhouse and forget that I do not have a whol lot of space even though my house is huge for NYC. So, I had to be told how to "scale" everything to the space we had to work with, which was helpful
I purchased the service several months ago but was not ready to actually decide on the actual purchases until recently. So, the delay in completion is because of my schedule.  I now hope to finish everything by September.

"John Walters and the AAA Construction and Restoration team are highly recommended. Our townhouse was built in 1967 and the bathroom was in serious need of remodeling, including significant water damage to the living room ceiling. John and his staff accompanied us to Home Depot twice to assist in selecting materials. The construction team was professional, hard-working, and always aimed to please. In fact, realizing that being out of the home was difficult for our family, the team even worked on Thanksgiving. They also even came the day after Thanksgiving to ensure that everything was perfect. It was. Our new bathroom is beautiful, the ceiling repaired, other work was also done and we are extremely pleased with the results. John Walters and the AAA Construction Team are A++. Work done included: Full bathroom remodeling with new shower/bath, toilet, vanity, mirror, fixtures, floor and shower tile with border, light fixtures, vent, painting. "The installers arrived with the product early on the 12th. They began with the base to the cabinet wall and to the desk. From there, they built upwards to the ceiling.  They insured that all the cabinet doors fit properly and that the drawers were installed properly and worked as planned.  Each of the book cases sections had 5 shelves. A light was added to the hutch bottom to give light to the desk.  Everything was made to order for the room, based on plans Brian drew up on two previous visits. The oak is stained to a light/moderate color and really brightens the room.  Having had a mixture of pieces in the room, this change makes a big differences. I am glad I called Brian and decided to have him and his associates build this home office.  If I see any other needs for casework in my house, I will certainly give him a call

"I sent the money and dimensions in in November 2011.  She responded back very quickly, informed me that she was very busy and wouldn't be able to start on my project for a couple of weeks.  I actually responded that that was fine.  After a month or so with no contact, i emailed.  She emailed  right back, apologized and asked for some more measurements.  I sent them.  Didn't hear anything, when in response to inquiry, she asked again for living room measurements-- that was Feb. 3rd.  On Feb. 20th, I emailed and asked for timeline.  She responded back the next day with 3 designs asking for my preference.  I emailed back on the 22nd of Feb with my preference.  On March 16th, I inquired again as to timeline for completion.Two weeks later she sent a concept board with some furnishings.  No window coverings or lights were suggested.  Three were multiple rugs with no direction of which one for each room.  All and all, not a pleasant experience.  I suspect I could have gotten better service using Pottery Barn's free design service (especially since most of the furnishings came from there.)"
