"Excellent service from the technician. The light fixture was from from Turkey, and was very tricky with installing (including not having exactly the right base to hang). He figured out how to make it look perfect and gave us lots of tips for our upcoming house with no pressure. Courteous, professional, and prompt service! We will hire them again!"

"Job was finished and it looks good! Quoted me over the phone around $450 including 10 feet to install a 240 V outlet so I hired him on the spot but total wound up being $600 after he finished. Might have misunderstood his quote over the phone and if it’s my fault then my apologies just sharing so everyone else can know to obtain a more specific quote for their projects before starting work."

"We had a great experience with Michael, our electrician. He installed new recessed lights, fans, and switches, and also repaired some old wiring. Michael was extremely professional, thorough, and did an excellent job from start to finish. He took the time to clean up the space and even organized all leftover boxes and old lighting. Highly recommend him for any electrical work!"

"I needed a new A/C unit, both inside and out at my apartment in Ocala. Dave and Christian were ..... so great! Polite, kind, professional, courteous. They both introduced themselves, asked if they could the sink or bathroom. Just super nice guys. They collaborated well together and helped each other out. They said please and thank you and I got you to each other! (I work in HR--- can you tell?) My expectations were exceeded with these two. I will recommend your company to anyone I know. Well done!!"

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

If you have a transfer switch properly installed, the generator and main electrical power cannot feed the system at the same time. However, you should still shut off the power at your main circuit breaker panel before activating the generator. If you do that, you’ll simply need to shut off the generator and reset your circuit breaker once the local power comes back on.

Generators run on a variety of fuel types, ranging from natural gas to solar power. Keep in mind that fuel costs varying by type:

  • Natural gas: $2,000–$21,000 per year

  • Liquid propane: $2,000–$21,000 per year

  • Diesel: $3,000–$20,000 per year

  • Gasoline: $500–$3,000 per year

  • Solar generator: $2,000–$25,000 per unit

  • Battery backup: $10,000–$25,000 per unit

While the rating will tell you how many watts the refrigerator needs at the peak of its cycle, it requires additional wattage to start. At the bare minimum, you’ll need a 1,500-watt generator to get the fridge up and running after a blackout. A 2,000-watt generator should be sufficient for most home refrigerators.

Many services include assembling the unit and securing it in the window. Confirm with your provider.

As a safety measure, you should always turn off the main breaker while operating your generator’s backup breaker. In addition, you should also switch off all appliance breakers so you don't have a power surge when the main breaker turns back on. And finally, turning off the main breaker prevents back-feeding, which endangers utility workers with the risk of electrocution. Back-feeding could also destroy the electrical circuits of your neighbors if they use the same power network.
