"1-Star Review of Alpha Foundations ? Ongoing Foundation Issues and No Resolution I hired Alpha Foundations to perform foundation repairs on my home in Sarasota, FL in early 2023. I paid over $33,000 for their recommended solution, which they claimed would stabilize the foundation, particularly at the rear of my home. Despite assurances, the foundation has continued to settle less than two years after the repair was completed. Structural cracks have reappeared in the same areas, and the issue has clearly not been resolved. I?ve reached out to Alpha multiple times to address the problem, only to be told that additional repairs will require more payment?even though they failed to get the job done properly the first time. There has been no meaningful accountability from Alpha Foundations for their incomplete work, and I am now facing additional financial and structural burdens. I expected a long-term solution for the significant amount I paid?not a temporary fix and a demand for more m"

"I called them all and spent several months deciding before I chose Shore up. Why? I had a lot of questions and Eric either picked up the phone when I called or returned my texts & calls promptly. He calmed my fears and answered every question (some 2x). They never sent me pressured texts about discounts from salespeople I’d never met. Shore -Up’s bid was competitive but the super helpful staff that seem to love the company sealed the deal for me. Lifting a house up is a big expensive but necessary job. Its a tough decision that has no vanity pay off like a new paint job or kitchen remodel. I really appreciate their staff particularly Clay, Wade, Zach, & Adlai. They kept me informed throughout the process. They rescued my old home and treated it with care. I feel confident recommending this company to anyone on the fence about raising or stabilizing a foundation. "This job was done in February 2017. I just discovered I never finished writing the review. So here it is 3 years later. First, doing this review now lets me tell you that our new metal roof made it through Hurricane Michael with flying colors. We had other storm damage ($25,000 worth) but the roof did fine. The job was done on schedule though interrupted by two afternoon heavy rain events. First class installation by a team that showed up on-time each morning, worked hard and got along well together. They were proud of their work and and cleaned up the site when done even using a magnetic sweeper to lift any roofing nails that might have fallen. The roof we chose was white which made our house really stand out over the gray siding and white trim. Moreover, our HVAC bills were lowered (I track it). Last, I want to tell you that Guyson are more than just roofers after your money. They are fine local people. Recently, my 94 year-old neighbor climbed on his roof to do some repairs. He fell off the roof onto a concrete pad and spent 5 days in intensive care. 20-some staples in his head, boot on his left leg and badly bruised ribs but super lucky to be alive. Needless to say, he's not going to get on the roof anytime soon. I get "the cat claws" when I'm on a pitched roof. So I called Guyson and when they heard the story they came out and looked at the job. Although they are swamped and this is a small job they're gonna do finish the repair anyway. God love 'em. BTW, my neighbor's fall is how I found out I never finished this review I started in 2017."

"2020 has passed and we couldn't be happier with our completed first floor project, thanks to Jim Rutherford Construction. Jim was willing to tackle what other local well known contractors were either unwilling to consider or bid so high as to be unaffordable. Our project proved to be a technical challenge from the onset, raise the ground floor by almost a foot of concrete, completely rebuild the first floor by installing 3 impact French doors, 3 impact doors and 4 impact windows, cut off support an internal staircase including modifying framing around a dumbwaiter, reframe and replace every exterior wall from 4' down. Plus an added surprise rebuilding and repairing 45' of a heavily spalled concrete tie-beam in less than a week. We're still amazed at how quickly and confidently Jim set about taking on the project, he seemed to have it figured out before we even committed to getting started. He knew just right carpenters and subs to assign the work to. Once they began, they never stopped till the project was completed. Workmanship was outstanding, inspections were a breeze. I commend Jim and his crew for the quality of work and attention to detail, no shortcuts taken, stainless hardware/fasteners throughout and only pressure treated lumber. Add them all up and we have a completely new remodeled permitted downstairs ready to withstand the elements. It is without hesitation we'd recommend Jim Rutherford Construction for any project or home construction. Professional, polite and a pleasure to do business with."
