DESIGN ~ BUILD ~ MAINTAIN C&F LAWN AND LANDSCAPE. was founded by J. Blake Cook, Full time Fire Fighter, who started the business by maintaining neighborhood homes in the Bay County area. The business began in 2014 as a part- time job. After one year, the business grew exponentially. The business was originally created in residential mowing, landscape installation, pine straw and other miscellaneous jobs but quickly turned into something much larger. In 2016 the business had expanded so that Blake moved into landscaping full time and his father, John joined the team! The business has expanded every year since and is presently involved in commercial & residential landscape building, from irrigation installation to hardscape design. C&F LAWN AND LANDSCAPE. is currently involved in all segments of the landscape industry including landscape installation, lawn maintenance, irrigation installation and maintenance as well as sodding, grading, pine straw, rock and flower installation, outdoor kitchens and hardscape; paver patios, driveways and retention walls. We also provide landscape maintenance to our landscape customers. We pride ourselves in being a full-service landscape company.

"Out standing outcome, crew was on time each day! Polite I was so impressed I went and purchased 15 lbs of steamed shrimp for the workers! Lunch! The work they had to replace due to improper installation bye previous contractor has me looking for previous contractor who has left the state of Florida! I am a 100% disabled veteran and I can now walk to my mail box and back without twisting an ankle or falling down! Which may be a simple task for most of you! They are my go to for anything they can do!"

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

While dethatching first often makes the aeration process faster and easier, both actions can be done on the same day. Aeration can also loosen up the thatch, even if you have a harder time aerating the soil because the thatch got too thick. Because both dethatching and aeration have the common goal of making it easier for the soil to get water and nutrients, it’s safe and possible to do both at the same time.

Yes, you should water the lawn after aerating. Now that you’ve loosened up the soil to better receive nutrients, it’s time to hydrate and fertilize your lawn. You’ll want to keep it evenly moist to promote healthy growth. Don’t drown your grass—too much of a good thing can reverse all the work you’ve done with aeration in the first place. But especially if you’ve overseeded and/or fertilized after aeration, you’ll want to ensure a moist soil layer to absorb those nutrients and fuel for new growth.

You can thicken new grass by using fertilizer, watering it 1 to 1½ inches per week, mowing when it is at an optimal height, and preventing weeds. You should fertilize your grass while you plant the grass seed, or soon afterward. Use an herbicide to prevent weeds or spot spray with herbicide to kill existing weeds.

Routine lawn care costs between $50 and $250 per service, with an average of around $100. Most homeowners need one service per week through the spring and summer, and many switch to snow removal services in the winter. The price you’ll pay will depend on a few different factors:

  • Size of your lawn

  • Complexity of your lawn layout and obstructions

  • Requested services

  • Home’s location

  • How quickly your grass grows

If you plan on laying new grass seed, try to wait eight weeks before stepping on it. You might need to wait an entire season to drive your car across the driveway. Sod establishes itself in the ground in about two weeks.
