Small jobs welcome

"They fixed every thing that needed maintenance and fixing, Including a new jam around the workshop door that had rotted, repaired several cracks in the house ceilings, installed new tile pieces that had cracked in several rooms. They were very professional and always on time and the quality of work was the best. I would hire them again. Thank you."

"Honest, hardworking, kind, and informative, I chose Roy for the installation of a new sprinkler system. He stuck with the quoted price even though our main was buried so deep, that it initially could not be found. I would have given 5 stars for quality of work, but my yard is a mess, However, the sod was laid back down haphazardly, bare patches, and a lot of small and medium chunks of clay and rock were left behind that came out of the ground and should have been raked up. There should be a line after an irrigation system is installed, but not large areas that make your yard look like a war zone. They were all really nice guys, and I think it is great that Roy gave an inexperienced team the opportunity to work for him. I just expected rocks to stay buried and the sod to look more uniform when laid back down. I would change my review if things were made right, but I do not know how that is possible now. I would also recommend Broken Pipe Irrigation to others, but as of now, no one who sees the yard would want my recommendation. To be fair, when the project was first started, there were delays based on weather. Some of the sod was upside for quite a few days, in which time the weather was dry and we didnâ t have rainâ it grayed up a lot. But, that is also the time it took several days of extra digging to find the main. Our house is on a slope and even though they found a place installed by plumbers to tap into, the main part of the main water pipe must be down 4-5 feet or more. Roy spent a lot of time explaining the problem with our main being buried so low and I appreciate him pointing out why that is not a good thing. Neither the builder or plumbers who installed the main could find it, either, and the plans were lost by the plumbers. Aside from that, the customer service was outstanding and the cost affordable. The sprinkler system works great!"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Using a snow blower can make removing snow easier if you have physical limitations and a large area to cover. Snow blowers can remove large amounts of snow quickly, which can also save you time. However, shoveling can be efficient for smaller areas with light snow. The method you use will depend on the specific situation and your preference. Of course, you can skip doing it yourself and stay out of the cold by hiring a snow removal company near you.

The best way to save money on snow removal is to sign up for a seasonal contract that guarantees service throughout the entire winter. Most companies charge between $200 and $600 for this service, and they’ll often give you a break on the price if you extend annually. Of course, savings will depend on your area. If you live in a moderate climate where snowfall may or may not occur, you could pay more than you need during a light snow year. Still, it’s usually a safe bet to sign a seasonal contract.

You can use hot water to melt ice from your driveway, but there are some serious caveats. Very hot water can quickly melt ice and remove it, which is helpful if you’re very short on time and need a solution ASAP. However, it will only work across a small area, after which there’s a chance the water will freeze again. The sudden clash of temperatures is dangerous for fragile materials, notably windows and other glass, so you’ll want to keep the water away from your car.

The cost of removing snow from a roof averages between $300 and $700. However, this cost can range from $200 to $3,000, depending on the size of your roof, the amount of snow, and roof accessibility.

Since snowfall can range from light powder to heavy and condensed snow, part of the price of roof snow removal depends on the amount and type of snow. For 12 inches of snow, you can expect to pay between $200 and $2,000 for this job. However, for 24 inches of snow, that price rises to $300 to $3,000.

That depends on the size of your snow blower and how efficiently it uses fuel. Most snow blowers will last between 1 and 2 hours on a full tank of gas. Larger blowers tend to use fuel more quickly and need refilling more often.

Keep in mind, the average snow blowing project for a home driveway takes around 30 minutes. Large driveways and yards will take around an hour. A full tank of gas should be more than enough for snow removal, although the height of the snowfall will have an effect, too.
