"Green Rock Solutions showed up when they said they would and worked very efficiently. GRS completed the job as promised. The change order presented was very reasonable and represented a change to the scope of work quoted. The patio addition was professionally laid out and poured. The results were exactly what we imagined. The patio makes a great 12 x 28 (336 sq ft) enhancement to our new home."

"IMPERIAL LANDSCAPING CONCEPTS was my chosen landscaping company to design and deliver an appropriate stylistic landscape redesigned to enhance the road appeal of our home. I was impressed by the level of professionalism displayed by Imperial Landscaping Concepts beginning with the face-to-face meetings with the owner, landscaping architecture designer and project manager. Imperial Landscaping Concepts discussed each phase of my project with me to ensure the ideas and inspiration were understood while establishing a realistic timeline. To my surprise, Imperial Landscaping Concepts has developed over the years a one-stop-shop, which includes a network skilled craftsman who are personally engaged in the overall success of reaching the end vision of the design. Throughout the project, Imperial Landscaping Concepts retained my trust and confidence based upon the quality work ethic demonstrated along with their attention to the details. Imperial Landscaping Concepts provided all services required to complete my project, to include; the demolition and removal of the old walkway, stone design/color for paver walkways, patio, retaining walls and flower beds, the redesign and expansion of the irrigation system, electrical work for the installation of the ground lighting, and the skillful selection of indigenous flowering plants, shrubs and trees creating the vision of an English Gardens. Imperial Landscaping Concepts has transformed my yard into a neighborhood showplace. Imperial Landscaping Concepts has proven their quality performance while remaining grounded in good business practices. I highly recommended Imperial Landscaping Concepts for residential of commercial properties seeking the array of services provided by Imperial Landscaping Concepts. "Creative Scape did a tremendous job. The gentleman who installed my brick pavers for a platform in the front and back of my deck did an excellent job. They also installed a drainage system from my front downspout to the back. They were very professional and very courteous. They also laid sod and transformed my yard into a beautiful area. I want to thank Ken from Creative Scape and the guy who did the work. A big thank you, and I will use them again."

Patios questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can build a sunroom addition to your home despite living in a cold climate. Make sure to use high-quality insulation and windows and to supplement with sufficient heating from your HVAC system. The windows in the sunroom allow enough natural light into the room to help heat it most times without having to use the furnace. Even a small electric fireplace can heat the sunroom well enough.

Yes, but ensuring the deck has a solid foundation with adequate footings is critical before building, as the weight of a sunroom will put significant pressure on the structure below. Even if your deck is properly constructed, it may not be able to handle the extra weight. While some basic, lightweight, prefabricated sunrooms can sit on a deck with a strong existing foundation without additional supports, in many cases, the foundation and joists will need reinforcement. It is always best to have a structural engineer perform an inspection to evaluate the deck's quality and structural integrity. A professional can help you decide if reinforcement is sufficient or if it's better to tear down the deck and start over.

In most parts of the U.S., adding a screened-in porch requires a building permit. Since this type of project often involves structural work and changes to your home’s footprint, homeowners should adhere to local guidelines. That said, permit rules can vary widely depending on where you live and how extensive the project is. Before you start sketching out plans or ordering materials, check in with your city or county’s building department to avoid headaches, fines, and potential structural issues down the line.

A screened-in porch can add value to your home, but it won’t count toward the total square footage at an appraisal or when it comes time to sell. A screened-in porch is not fully enclosed, usable year-round, insulated, or heated or cooled, so it doesn’t meet the requirements of livable square footage in most locations.

A sunroom is worth installing on a deck, both for the value and your own enjoyment. A Florida room addition costs between $10,000 and $140,000, so it’s pretty expensive. However, a quality sunroom can offer a 50% return on investment, making your home more sellable. Plus, if it’s a space you and your family enjoy relaxing in daily for years to come, it’s worth the money, time, and effort, even without the added monetary value.
