"Meir at PaveWorks was great from the get-go. As soon as the quote came out, he called to go over everything, gave us very competitive pricing, and was professional throughout the entire process. We had a full road paved as well as several areas that needed patchwork. The full paving job came out great and was properly prepped and completed. What impressed me just as much was the patchwork. It was done carefully and professionally, and it felt like they were focused on making a long-term repair rather than just doing a quick temporary fix. I was very happy with the quality of the work, the pricing, and especially how quickly Meir was able to get everything scheduled and completed. Definitely recommend Meir and PaveWorks."

"Wells Asphalt Paving did a great job! One day to tear out the old driveway and put in new gravel base, then a few days later laid the new asphalt. Efficient, explained things well and most important, did a great job at a reasonable cost. The neighbors are already commenting on day one!"

"A&S Paving did an excellent paving my job on my driveway, which is very long and had a lot of issues. Anthony promptly returned my call the same day and went to my house to inspect my driveway in a matter of hours to give me a quote. He was very professional and knowledgeable, and scheduled the work for the next day. The workers were at my house early the next morning with their equipment and got right to work. My driveway now looks fantastic and exceeded my expectations. Anthony paid special attention to drainage issues and had very helpful solutions for those issues. They also reduced the pitch of a steep portion of the drive and graded out the bottom so that now no one will bottom out when they pull out my driveway. I am extremely pleased with the outcome. I was also happy with the level of communication about the progress of the job, which was done in one day. I would give an A+ if that rating was available."

Paving Services questions, answered by experts

Compared to a 10x20 concrete driveway costing between $800 and $3,000, a resin bound driveway of the same size costing $3,900 to $4,000 is the more expensive option. However, the cost still makes resin a cheaper option compared to a 10x20 paver driveway costing an average of $12,000.

Many asphalt companies have experience with tar and chip paving, but not all. The process is unique enough—and not incredibly common enough—that you may have to look around for a tar and chip specialist. However, speaking with a driveway company is a great place to start, especially if they have experience with multiple materials.

Driveway pavers are often worth the cost. Paver types like cobblestone, brick, and concrete are highly durable, and permeable paver options can be tremendously eco-friendly. While you may pay more for a paver driveway, you’ll see great returns from the increased curb appeal and low maintenance compared to other types of driveways.

It takes recycled asphalt 48 hours to initially harden and up to 3 months to fully cure. It’s best to stay off of recycled asphalt for at least 48 hours, then you can walk or drive standard vehicles on it. Hold off on driving heavy trucks or equipment on it for at least 7 days. Allowing the surface to melt together and harden ensures that the surface stays durable and long-lasting.

The best way to stop your pavers from sinking is to ensure you've properly compacted the base layers. Use your paver compactor and work over the base layer several times to create the hardest possible base. If the soil and sand of your base are compact, you’ll experience less shifting and sinking.
