"Threatened me multiple times, I’ll be filing a police report. Very unskilled, bad job with putting up a fence. Damaged the brand new fencing by using a chain saw from the ground to cut the tops off posts. One end of my fence is on the ground with a clear tilt. Used old materials despite still having more new materials available. Sawed though a fence post when he was rushing to cut the old fence to create a barrier that was clearly requested at the first meeting because I have a pool. He bought 10 fence posts and only used 8. When asked about a fence post he screwed into my wall that was clearly rotting at the bottom he stated he could get another one for $100.00 more, I told him no knowing he still had at least one good one that he didn’t saw through. He had already spoken in a raised voice and rudely to me a few days period to this so I didn’t feel I was able to question anything he was doing. I couldn’t go without my yard being fenced in no matter how poorly done because of my pool. He never used an entire fence panel and instead bought single fence slats to attach to the gate kit. He added cost to an invoice at the end after completing the job but without asking or getting permission to charge me more. I was given a total and requested that I not pay everything up front. He then gave me an invoice with materials and half labor that I paid immediately. When he completed the job I requested an invoice so I could pay the remainder and he only sent one with the additional money he says I owe him so I requested an itemized bill as to what the extra money was for and then I refuted the extra money, he was charging for materials and a fuel charge. I paid for the materials and half labor including time, travel, pick up and delivery, tools and consumables on the first invoice. If he had explained that he was going to need to charge me more I would’ve requested an additional invoice so that it was clear I was agreeing to paying more. It was clear on the first invoice that there was a total cost and that on the second invoice it was spilt in the way he chose. I paid the full $1600.00 he said was the total for the job. I didn’t agree to him hiring help or buying more materials when he didn’t use all the materials purchased for the job, leaving the fence vulnerable to easy damage and further rot. I would not hire him again. He is hot headed and thinks he can speak to you however he sees fit. He is not professional. I’ve told my neighbors that I no longer recommend his work. If they hire him that’s on them. Hire at your own risk. **he damaged his own pole digger by throwing it over his head at the hole in the ground. He said he needed new chainsaw blades after the first post he attempted to cut. He said he had to use more cement because my yard was sand. Every time he mentioned these things I was under the impression that the costs were accounted for since he invoiced me and it was a total cost not an estimate. He later stated that his invoices are all estimates but that was after he was trying to charge more money. I never gave him time limits on the job, never rushed the job. I was home and available any time he asked to come and work aside from one evening asking him not to come after 5pm."

Metal Fabrication and Restoration questions, answered by experts

Corrugated metal has been pressed so that it has alternating ridges or grooves. Metal that has undergone this process becomes incredibly strong, with some of the highest strength-to-weight ratios of any material. It's lightweight and has an increased surface area when compared to a flat sheet of metal. Both of these attributes contribute to its coveted strength. It's used for fencing because it's weather- and impact-resistant, rarely needs maintenance, and lasts many years—for a relatively low cost.

Professionals ensure durability by selecting high-quality materials, precise fabrication, and proper finishing techniques. They perform meticulous installation and provide maintenance advice to extend the lifespan of metal installations.

Since cesspits must be watertight to prevent leakage and contamination, so they’re typically constructed from one of a few tough materials. Most cesspits are made from fiberglass, concrete, polythene, or steel. Each of these materials carries certain advantages—fiberglass, for example, is resistant to corrosion but may be more prone to cracking if it’s at high capacity.

The average cost to hire a welder is about $300, with an average rate ranging from $65 to $125 per hour, depending on their experience and the project type and size. Aside from labor costs, some other charges you’ll need to pay include the cost of the welding material and the cost of the shielding gas that makes welding possible and safe. When you’re interviewing welders for your work, you can ask for an estimate based on your project specifics. In some simple cases, like welding gas lines or common welding projects, local welders may charge a flat hourly rate with add-ons if necessary.

Common hardscaping materials include coated steel or iron, asphalt, stone, concrete, and brick. Coated steel or iron provide durability and style for fences and gates while asphalt is a wallet-friendly option for driveways. Stone brings timeless beauty to steps, patios, and walkways. Concrete pavers and slabs are cost-effective, though they require more upkeep than stone alternatives. For a classic, upscale look, brick works beautifully in walls, walkways, and patios. Each material brings its own charm, so pick what fits your budget, style, and functional needs.
