Small jobs welcome

"Chris was great, very responsive and professional. Clearly extremely knowledgeable (we did a turf project, it was pricey). Would definitely recommend highly for any landscaping project and will definitely use again."

"Joseph and his team did excellent work, and the price was definitely fair. Along the perimeter of my corner lot, they planted and laid mulch for 41 clusia. One month later the plants are healthy and thriving, and my property looks amazing! I would strongly recommend to anyone that is looking for landscaping work to get Tyre's Property Maintenance!"

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

You can use hot water to melt ice from your driveway, but there are some serious caveats. Very hot water can quickly melt ice and remove it, which is helpful if you’re very short on time and need a solution ASAP. However, it will only work across a small area, after which there’s a chance the water will freeze again. The sudden clash of temperatures is dangerous for fragile materials, notably windows and other glass, so you’ll want to keep the water away from your car.

In most cases, it’s worth it to pay for professional snow removal. You can shovel the snow yourself, but it’s very labor-intensive and puts you at risk of injury or illness by performing exhausting manual labor in slippery conditions. Paying a professional removes that risk and saves you time and energy. Depending on your agreement, you could wake up to a cleared driveway and a car that’s ready to drive rather than have to get up early to do the work yourself.

That depends on the size of your snow blower and how efficiently it uses fuel. Most snow blowers will last between 1 and 2 hours on a full tank of gas. Larger blowers tend to use fuel more quickly and need refilling more often.

Keep in mind, the average snow blowing project for a home driveway takes around 30 minutes. Large driveways and yards will take around an hour. A full tank of gas should be more than enough for snow removal, although the height of the snowfall will have an effect, too.

Costs depend on property size, snowfall frequency, and additional services like de-icing or hauling snow offsite.

A common mistake is you can let snow melt naturally in a window well. However, snow buildup in the well can damage your window frames and walls. The melting snow also poses risks of water damage as it may leak through into the basement. It’s important to shovel snow out of your window wells before too much snow is piled in there.
