"Cleary Plumbing is very efficient, professional, quick response time, quick with correcting whatever the problem may be and prices are affordable. I have used them 3 times and have an appointment for a 4th time. We are renovating an old Condo Unit and the guys they send out are polite and professional. Their work ethics are excellent! I highly recommend them!"

"Hands down the best plumbing business around. They pretty much always send me Sebastian. Not only is he knowledgeable about plumbing but he's down to earth and never tries to sell me something I don't need. He quickly and efficiently fixes what's wrong and backs up all their work. Their prices are reasonable as well. You want a good plumber who won't rake you over the coals, then call these guys. They'll get the job done!"

Affordable Plumbers questions, answered by experts

It is safe to use a frost-proof or freeze-proof spigot or pump in the winter if you live in an area with freezing temperatures. Otherwise, it's best to fully drain and shut down your outside spigot in the winter to avoid cracking a pipe.

Bleach—even diluted bleach—is not always the safest option for cleaning your drains. With a high pH, bleach can be highly corrosive to many types of pipes, especially when used regularly. When mixed with household cleaners and organic waste, it can also create dangerous chemicals. Remember to use proper protective equipment and ventilation when dealing with bleach.

There are many possibilities for why your shower’s water pressure is low. It might be a simple-to-fix issue like the water valves being partially turned off, a dirty showerhead or hose, leaks in the plumbing, or an old showerhead. However, low water pressure in the shower could also indicate a larger issue with your home’s plumbing system.

If you can’t unscrew your bathtub drain, it could be due to stripped post threads. The best way to handle this is to pull the stopper up while turning it. Eventually, you should see a screw set that you can loosen with a flathead screwdriver to remove the bathtub drain.

Yes, shower water goes into the septic tank. Shower water is a type of greywater, and in fact, all water used in a home with a septic system—including water from sinks, toilets, the dishwasher, and the washing machine—drains into the tank. When shower water enters the tank, debris like soap and hair travels with it. The solid debris sinks to the bottom to become sludge, while soap residue joins the scum layer at the top. The remaining water is treated in the tank before moving to the drain field for further treatment and dispersal. It is important to avoid putting oil or harsh chemicals down any drain, as they can cause clogs or disrupt the beneficial bacteria required for proper wastewater management in the septic system.
