In comparing Apples to Apples with other companies please feel free to ask them a few questions list below that may or may not apply to compare to Travis Contracting Services. 1.  Are you a state licensed contractor? 2.  Does the owner of the company hold the state license and qualify the company? 3.  Will you be pulling permits to complete the work? "If necessary" 4.  Do you pay your employees on the books and are they covered under your Workmens Compensation Policy? 5.  Do your Subcontractors have the proper license for there trade? 6.  Is your plumber a licensed Plumber?  Will he pull a sub permit under the main permit to complete the work? 7.  Is your Electrician a licensed Electrician?  Will he pull a sub permit under the main permit to complete the work? If they answer yes to all seven of these questions then it would be Apples to Apples. Exposure to homeowner:  1.  If someone is not covered under a workmens compensation policy and they are injured in your home you as the homeowner are 100% responsible for there injuries. 2.  As a homeowner if you hire an unlicensed contractor to complete work at your home you will have no rights in court if you need to seek legal action against the unlicensed contractor.   3.  If the unlicensed contractor is caught working in your home the county will fine you double permit fees and demand you hire a licensed contractor to continue the work. 4.  You will loose all deposits given to the unlicensed contractor. Exposure to the unlicensed contractor: 1.  If caught posing as a licensed contractor the unlicensed contractor will be arrested.  According to the Florida Statues this offense will result in a felony conviction.
