"I hired persnickety cleaning in the spring of 2020 To clean my short term rentals on Navarre Beach. Prior to turning my rentals over to Persnickety my wife and I cleaned them, touched up the walls with paint, and made them spotless. The first day I had Mark and Ede (the owners) over for a walk through at my unit the smell of alcohol was extremely strong and I should have known what I was getting into right then. Within a couple of weeks, I started getting complaints. Hair in the bathrooms, food in the microwave, countertops that were not clean, rugs that were not swept containing excessive amounts of sand as well as sand on the floors where they didn’t even sweep. This continued on about every other week with both units consisting of multiple complaints. One day I met up with Ede at one of my condos in the middle of the day and I’m watching her from my balcony down in the parking lot and she is drinking alcohol. When I walk down there as soon as I walked up she said that it was the cleaners alcohol. I immediately called her out explaining to her that I saw her drinking it and the cleaner confirmed the truth. After that Ede admitted that she was the one drinking. We had another encounter where she comes to view a new chest we have for storing cleaning supplies, extra bedding, and our tenant gifts we explain how it works and the code to access it. She seems like she is placing the information in her cleaning system only to find out multiple times when we encountered her cleaners that most of them never knew about the chest or code. On top of that within the 6 months that we used this company they never washed or exchanged the bed comforter sets! Every time I had an issue I would call them and immediately they would say we need pictures. So then I would have to bother my tenants and ask them to sweep up the sand and take pictures, etc. One time we had a family with an infant crawling around on the floor and the pictures they sent us of the filth on this child’s hands and knees were plain disgusting and uncalled for in a place that turns over multiple times a week. Once I had my pictures (of whatever filth they failed to clean) I would then send it to Ede to finally have her find the importance at hand. The problem is that obviously the cleaning company cannot go over at 10 o’clock at night and re-clean the unit not to mention most tenants are on vacation to get away and not deal with people in and out of there “vacation spot”. Unfortunately, after a couple of months, I lost my five-star rating and things started to get even worse with the same issues Persnickety claimed would not reoccur. Our final straw was when I had a tenant message me At 10:30 at night this is what his message said…. ( It’s a little late for a call but I wanted to let you know we had a couple of issues. Got in just fine and went straight to dinner and the grocery store. Came back to get situated and found some random sand on the window sill by the door. No big deal there. The floors were obviously not clean as we are walking on sand. There was also sand on the nightstand in the master bedroom closest to the door. It isn’t the end of the world but in the era of Coronavirus that was all supposed to be wiped down. The worst things were finding hair in the master sink & on the toilet (areas that would normally be disinfected) and the fact that my kid climbed into the lower bunk bed and it is full of sand. My wife spent 45 minutes disinfecting both bathrooms and the kitchen. She is ******. So now the first night of my vacation I have an angry wife, a kid sleeping in sandy sheets and the prospect of washing the linens in the house tomorrow rather than enjoying my time off. Whoever you had clean this place failed completely.) When I called them after I received this horrible message from the tenants. Mark the owner told me that my tenants were lying and the place was clean. At that time he was immediately fired! If I could only put pictures on the review I would be able to show the seriousness of the filth! Mark stated that he stands behind his cleaner and didn’t believe what we were telling him. Never was there a point where he attempted to fix the wrong that was done on his companies behalf and stayed very confrontational as opposed to being professional. At the exact same time that this happened I was having them paint the ceiling of the other unit. Mark told me the unit was finished. When I went and inspected it he rolled the ceiling and never cut in any of the edges with the paintbrush. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional dishonest company in my life. I called and told him about the situation and that I could not pay him for a job that was incomplete his response was to tell me that I would pay him or else he even resorted to name-calling saying, “you ********** you will pay me.” I also informed him that I have to give back the tenants from our other unit the cleaning fee and thus I cannot pay him that cleaning fee because the place was not clean. Immediately he called me and said, “if you do not pay me in full that I am going to your condo units door every time someone check’s in and tell them that you owe me money.” Concerned for my tenant's safety and the well being of my career I immediately call the Sheriff’s department and filed a report on him. Once he learned he would go to jail for that he then tells me he’s going to put a lien on my property deed. Please don’t forget we are $250 apart because of work he has not completed. I could literally go on and on and on about things he did not keep his word on, and how unprofessional the owners of Persnickety have been throughout our entire business together. If you have short term rentals and you wanna keep your five star….never use Persnickety cleaning. If you want to use a company that is honest with you…never use persnickety cleaning. If you do not have time to be in court suing this company….never use Persnickety cleaning. If you’re looking for a quality cleaning company that truly gets the place clean…never use Persnickety cleaning. I would recommend A Cleaning Experience, LLC. They have handled all our problems with amazing professionalism."
