"Signed contract 11/12. Permitting request made; permit issued 1/30/2025. Drywall/insulation work begun almost immediately. Spoke on phone with GC just over 2 weeks ago to review time frame for rest of work. GC stated he planned to meet with me and walk through the following week. Stated painting would begin the following week (this would be the week of 2/10). Neither event happened. Also asked about floor tiling job, as I had outside company doing the job & wanted to let that person know when he could plan on the job starting. GC stated 2 weeks out; that would have been this past week. This didn't happen either. I texted GC 2/18 to ask if we could meet at house the next day. No reply. Called cell # 2/19 requesting call back to discuss lack of recent progress. Emailed 2/21 with same request, reminding him that I'm renting a place & am unable to stay indefinitely. Again asking about time frame on project. On 2/22, texted again, asking that he please call me. Each time I've attempted contact, I've asked him to please call me to discuss project & time line. He has not responded to me at all. This is the reason for my complaint. As of now, I feel left in the dark about whatever is happening or not. He is not communicating to me. I feel like he is avoiding contact. At present, I have no idea what his plans are schedule-wise for the project. It feels like my house project is in limbo right now. For more than a week, nothing has been done inside the house, with no explanation as to why. I think the GC has possibly over-extended himself, due to the magnitude of people needing assistance post-hurricanes and therefore may not have much spare time. But he needs to make sure his customers are being taken care of and communicated with."

Paid for lawn sod replacement ($300) to find out it was totally. destroyed because they had to come back to correct a patio paver deck that was slanted toward to the foundation instead of away from the foundation. Had Owner return to correct the issue after he still insisted there was no problem. When he finally returned to correct the issue he realized that the entire patio had to be realigned. During the process he broke a pool pipe! It was a disaster and could have been avoided if the patio pavers were installed properly the first time. The owner may have good intent but lacks experienced employers. Had also expected me to pay for the cost of his error in sawing through my pool pipe. Would not recommend him for major landscaping projects . Paid $12,600 OVERPAID! As Elderly People have learned a lesson."

I initially thought I would try to save money and hire a DIY/one-man fixer upper, but soon realized that was taking up too much of my time and I could never find anyone dependable. I did some research and found S&W Kitchens (Longwood showroom). I liked that they were family owned and had been around for a long time. My first encounter was with Amy who would be my design lead. Our first meeting was to talk about the whole process of what and how working with S&W Kitchens would entail. She was very thorough and made things very easy to understand. Once we got through that stage, meetings were set up discuss my vision of what the bathroom would look like. I did have several photos and a concept of what I was wanting to do which did help in that process, as well as helpful suggestions from Amy.
